On Knowhere at The Collector's Museum...
The Collector is leading Bucky and Wanda through the maze of artifacts. They follow him; looking disgruntled.
"Ahh yes, one of my favorites," The Collector croons as he strokes a strange metal object. Wanda and Bucky look at one another.
"So how long is this tour exactly?" Bucky asks.
"Oh have no fear," The Collector replies, "long enough that you get to truly admire each object," The Collector smiles. The Collector turns around to lead them to the next artifact as Bucky puts his face in his hand.
Meanwhile at the Avengers Tower...
Hope flutters onto 2012 Tony's shoulder, dropping Scott off on Tony's shoe on the way. The 2012 avengers walk into the elevator. 2012 Hulk goes to follow the others into the elevator.
"Move," 2012 Hulk grumbles.
"Whoa!" replies 2012 Thor.
"Whoa, whoa. Hey! Buddy. What do you think? Maximum occupancy has been reached," adds 2012 Tony.
"Take the stairs," offers 2012 Thor.
"Yeah," 2012 Tony says. "Stop. Stop!" he continues as 2012 Hulk pulls his fist back to punch as the doors begin to close. 2012 Hulk makes a dent on the elevator door and then turns to take the stairs. "Take the stairs! Hate the stairs!" 2012 Hulk growls.
Nick Fury and Maria Hill enter the elevator full of Hydra agents. Everyone inside stares at them.
"Fury, Hill. What a surprise," 2012 Sitwell says at the sight of them. Fury and Hill nod in acknowledgement and Rumlow gives a short wave.
"Rumlow," Fury nods. Everyone looks around at each other, the emotions in the elevator growing tenser. "I just got a call from the Secretary. I'm gonna be running point on the scepter," Fury states.
"Sir? I don't understand," 2012 Sitwell replies with concern.
"We got word there may be an attempt to steal it," Hill explains.
"Sorry, I can't give you the scepter," 2012 Rumlow responds.
"I'm gonna have to call the Director," 2012 Sitwell tells Fury and Hill.
"That's okay. Trust me," Fury smiles slightly. He leans over to Sitwell's ear and whispers "Hail Hydra." Everyone looks surprised. Fury and Hill walk out of the elevator, Fury holding the case with the scepter inside.
The 2012 Avengers reach the bottom floor, Tony Stark carrying the case with the tesseract inside it.
"May I ask you where you're going?" 2012 Pierce intercepts the Avengers.
"To lunch and then Asgard. I'm sorry, you are?" 2012 Thor quips back.
"Alexander Pierce. He's the man, one of the folks behind Nick Fury," 2012 Tony explains.
"My friends call me Mr. Secretary. I'm gonna have to ask you to turn that prisoner over to me," 2012 Pierce demands.
"Loki will be answering to Odin himself," 2012 Thor challenges.
"Oh, he's gonna answer to us. Odin can have what's left. And I'm gonna need that case, that's been SHIELD property for over 70 years," 2012 Pierce tells 2012 Thor.
"Hand over the case, Stark," a hydra agent says. Hope flutters into 2012 Tony's arc reactor while Scott climbs a top the tesseract case.
"I need the case." Pierce says sternly.
"I know you got a lotta pull. I'm just saying..." 2012 Tony starts.
"Okay. Then give me the case," 2012 Pierce says back. Inside Tony's arc reactor Hope reaches up to take a handful of random wires.
"Get your hands off!" 2012 Tony says, his volume rising. Hope yanks the wires and Tony's eyes roll, his lips quiver and his legs shake.
"Stark?" Pierce asks in worry.
"Stark!" 2012 Thor says with shock and worry. 2012 Tony falls to the ground.
"Look, he's convulsing. Give him air! Medic!" 2012 Pierce shouts.
"MEDIC! You guys, some help!" says Sam Wilson, disguised in a S.H.I.E.L.D. uniform and standing a little ways away.
"Stark, you--- your chest machine?" Pierce says. Scott shrinks the case and runs to Sam. Loki's eyes widen as he watches the case. Scott enlarges the case when he reaches Sam; who picks it up, Scott jumping to sit on his shoulder while Hope flies over to sit on his shoulder as well.
"SO MANY STAIRS!" 2012 Hulk yells as he stomps down them. 2012 Hulk bursts through the wall with anger when he reaches the bottom of the stairs. "NO STAIRS!" he yells as he runs straight into Sam who falls backward and onto the floor. The case with the tesseract slides across the floor, breaking open. The tesseract skids to a stop in front of 2012 Loki. 2012 Loki looks around at the chaos surrounding him. Everyone bent over 2012 Tony on one side and everyone running from 2012 Hulk on the other. Loki leans down and picks up the tesseract; disappearing with it into a cloud of blue and grey.
"You'll be fine, Stark. Stay with us! I'll try something, okay? I have no idea if it's gonna work," 2012 Thor says. 2012 Thor uses Mjolnir as a defibrillator for 2012 Tony. "YES!" Thor yells as it works.
"That worked a treat. That was so crazy!" 2012 Tony says.
"I had no idea if that was gonna work." 2012 Thor laughs in awe.
"The case?" 2012 Tony asks.
"The case. It's, uhh... Where's the case? Where's Loki? Loki!" 2012 Thor says, his volume getting louder and more frantic.
"That wasn't supposed to happen, was it?" Scott whispers, from his spot sprawled out on the floor by Sam's ear. Hope groans next to him.
"Oh, we blew it," Sam whispers back.
