What If... the other 50% were snapped?

Chapter 3: Picking Up The Pieces

At Citadel in Wakanda...

T'Challa sits at the head of a long table. Shuri sits at the opposite end. Wanda, Sam, Bucky, Peter Parker, and Dr. Strange sit on the left side of the table; while Groot, Peter Quill, Drax, and Mantis sit on the right. A holotable shows pictures of all those who we have lost; Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Thor, Bruce Banner, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Vision, James Rhodes, Rocket, Nebula, Okoye, Wong, Scott Lang, and various Wakandan soldiers. Everyone looks in silent mourning at the faces of the dusted and killed.

"We need to find Thanos and finish this." Wanda states with an air of authority; she stands. "I'm going to find him. You can come with me or you can stay here wishing for what could have been."

"We are in this together. This is everyone in this room's battle to finish with honor. I will stand by your side until the end," T'Challa tells Wanda as he stands and walks over to stand beside her. Sam looks at Bucky and Bucky stares back, an intense fierceness in his eyes. Bucky stands wordlessly and walks to stand beside T'Challa. Sam follows Bucky and stands on his other side.

"I will do whatever I can, the best I can," Peter Parker says standing. "For Mr. Stark." Peter walks and stands beside Wanda.

"I'm sure we'll find something for you to do, but I'm not sending a kid to space to fight the most powerful being in the universe," T'Challa says hesitantly. Peter opens his mouth and then closes it, looking down at his feet.

"Yes your highness," Parker whispers. The Guardians stand together.

"So what's the plan?" Quill asks. Dr. Strange stands and everyone looks to him.

"We must start by locating Thanos, and then formulating a plan based on his location." Dr. Strange looks in Shuri's direction. "Between your technology and my powers I'm sure we can find him quickly." Shuri nods and stands. Dr. Strange follows Shuri out of the room, leaving everyone else to look at one another, unsure of what they should do.

Meanwhile at the Avengers compound...

Nick Fury paces around the room looking agitated. Maria Hill sits at a chair, feet propped on the table, looking equally agitated. Fury lifts his hand up to look at his pager. It shows Captain Marvel's logo and has a blinking red light. Fury groans in despair and lowers his hand. Maria sits up straighter and her mouth opens a little. She walks across the room to the video showing the front gate camera.

"Fury," Maria whispers. Nick looks over at her, his mouth opens as well and he walks over to stand beside her. Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Janet Van Dyne and Hank Pym are all standing there, Scott waving his arms to get the attention of the camera.

Meanwhile at Citadel in Wakanda...

Shuri and Dr. Strange walk side by side into the room where everyone else is sitting back in their seats again.

"Have you found him?" T'Challa asks the second they enter the room. Dr. Strange nods.

"Not only that," Shuri adds "We received another message from the Avengers Compound. It was some dude named Nick Fury, apparently he knows the avengers," Shuri looks in Sam and Wanda's direction when she says this. "and he's not alone."

"Can't believe you called Nick Fury, 'some dude'" Sam laughs to himself.
