Protectors

The workers looked on in terror as the lion roared at them. He may not be their designated protector by society. But these 2 children were Rin's pups. Not by blood, but out of love.

The workers had clearly only expecting to deal with a child shifter, not a fully grown lion shifter who looked like he could attack anyone of them at any minute.

"Hey you kid, this is your Dad's shifter right. Tell him to back down" of the workers complained to Jimin, it was the man who had had his hand shredded by Jungkook.

"Not until you leave Kookie alone" Jimin responded, a smile gracing his features.

The nurse shook Jimin, as if to scold him. Rin let out a fierce growl at her, she backed off. Letting go of the boy, Jimin was quickly to round the bed his Dad lay unconscious in to stand beside Rin.

"Jimin" the man's voice was a warning.

Jimin ignored it.

"I told you to leave us alone. You aren't taking away my family." Jimin yelled at that man.

"That shifter is not yet of age, he needs to be trained for when the time requires him to protect a human" the man explained, though his tone was impatient.

"But he is my family." Jimin screamed at the man, tears running down his cheeks.

"I need my family" the workers watched as the human boy's eyes trailed to his unconscious father to the lion and then to the small wolf pup.

They almost felt their hearts breaking for the boy. He had almost lost all of his family in one day. His Dad shot and unconscious, in a coma apparently. His Dad's shifter had taken 7 bullets to the side and had previously been unconscious until now and then on top of that a bunch of workers had stormed into the room and tried to take away the wolf shifter, who the boy seemed to have a strong connection with.

The workers tried to approach again but each time they took several steps backwards as the lion shifter protected his pups. The workers were smart enough not to mess with a lion shifter, no matter whether it was injured currently.

"Fine we will leave your family be for now. But know this kindness will not be repeated. That wolf shifter should be in the camps and we will do what is necessary to get him back to where he belongs" one of the workers warned them.

They then slowly left the room, under the watchful gaze of the lion shifter, Rin. Jimin finally let himself collapse to the floor as the nurse left as well. He was finally alone and safe with his family.

Rin turned to look at the 2 boys. Jungkook was lying down, legs splayed out. He had been underneath Rin as he had stood to protect him. Now he stood up onto his four furry legs. Tail wagging slowly from side to side.

Rin approached Jimin who seemed to be in the most distress. Not that anyone could blame him. Rin pulled him across the hospital floor with a paw till he was tucked under his body. Jimin immediately stretched out his arms to wrap around Rin's neck. Burying his face into the shifter's mane.

"Thank you Rin" he muttered, loud enough for the shifter to hear.

Rin let out a rumbling purr to show he understood. He then tilted his head to look at his human. Noting Jaymin's unconscious form. He began to walk towards him, Jimin letting him go. He approached the bed, lifting up onto powerful hind legs, his tawny eyes scanning over the still body.

"They said he is in a coma. That someone tried to fake his death. They found a drug in blood that made the symptoms of death appear" Jimin informed the lion shifter. His voice shaking as he spoke.

Rin nodded his great head in understanding. In the mean time Jungkook had been shifting back into his human form. Now he sat beside Jimin with his ears and tail still present.

"Jiminie alright?" He asked.

His voice starled Jimin, but he then nodded.

"Yeah I'm fine" Jimin managed a weak smile.

"Jiminie safe, no hurt?" Jungkook asked.

"Jiminie is safe yeah, I'm not hurt I don't think. Just shock" Jimin replied.

Jungkook nodded, he was content that he couldn't smell the scent of Jimin's blood. So he wasn't injured past maybe a bruise or two.

"Thank you for saving us Rin" Jimin told the shifter, clearer this time. Jungkook nodded as well.

"Thank you Papa" Jungkook smiled. Rin who hadn't heard Jungkook refer to him as Papa before started.

He turned his head towards them from their previous gaze upon Jaymin. He tilted his head to the side, made a growling sound, one of happiness Jimin guessed from Jungkook's reaction. Jungkook made a yipping sound, like a small yap of a dog.

Before he was crawling across the floor on his hands and knees. Brain not fully catching on that he was now in his human form. Rin let Jungkook latch onto him, Jungkook made an array of sounds that Jimin was surprised he could make so fluidly in his human form. Rin watched him patiently, bowing his head occasionally to show he was listening.

Eventually Jungkook's sounds tapered off, Rin nodded his head.

"I told him how I found you" Jungkook told a confused Jimin.

Jimin nodded, glad to be included in the loop, even if he couldn't understand the story Jungkook had told. Rin made a noise.

"He is telling us we should sleep" Jungkook told Jimin.

Rin then picked up Jungkook by the scruff of his neck like a small cub and walked across the room depositing him on the soft bed he had been sleeping on earlier. He then approached Jimin, Jimin expected the lion shifter to nudge him to move. But instead Rin snagged his teeth into the back off Jimin's t-shirt, lifting him much like he had done to Jungkook and carried him across the room. Placing him down gently beside Jungkook.

Jungkook who was still in partial shift curled around Jimin. Pulling him down to lie beside him. He wrapped his arms around Jimin's waist and pulled him so that Jimin had his head pressed to the wolf shifter's chest.

Rin then took the initiative, lying down and curling his large body around them. Eyes remaining open to scan the room, acting as a look out. Determined to protect his family.

All I gotta say is don't mess with Rin and his pups.
