Author POV

Jimin had gotten through to his Grandparents. He had played the Grandson who had been sheltered from the idea of Nobles house, and he was more than eager to meet his family. They had arranged to meet in the upcoming week.

Jimin was sure he looked anything but a nobles son, but that was the point. With his shaved undercut, distinctive rebellious dress style, he looked like the perfect project to mould into the 'perfect heir' to the Park family. He hated that he had to make his father look like he was a bad parent, Jimin apologised to him every morning and kept him on his mind each step of the way. After all one step of the plan was securing his father's freedom, he was one of the most important people to Jimin after all.

There were moments in his childhood when he just wanted to run and hide in his father's arms, Ha-kun despite being a good role model didn't have the same type of hugs that Jaymin did, it didn't offer him a feeling of complete and utter safety. It was close, but never perfect.

A hug from his father is what he wanted at the end of all this, if or when his plan succeeded.

The café was a posh one, a private one. They would not be interrupted. Jimin made his way inside, he could tell the servers were looking upon him with distaste, he supposed he did look like a imposter in their perfectly set out café for the Noble born.

He strolled through, head high and confident. Their distasteful looks meant nothing to him.

He made his way to the booth he was directed towards. When he rounded it, it was definitely a private setting. You couldn't see the rest of the café from where they were sitting.

"You're Jaymin's boy?" a silver haired man asked, he looked upon Jimin with a stern gaze.

Jimin dipped his head in confirmation, he was directed to take a seat with a leisurely wave of a hand, so he did.

"What is your name child?" the man asked, clearly this was his Grandfather.

"Jimin" came his swift response, his hands working fluently from years of practice.

He had mentioned his muteness over email, his Grandparents had hired an interpreter so they could proceed with the meeting smoothly.

"Why seek us out now?" The man looked to him, suspicious.

"My father never spoke of any family, so I assumed it was only me and him." Jimin explained.

"Jaymin was always a distracted and cut off person" the man agreed.

Jimin smiled, it was going well.

"I am Sung Park and this is my wife Young-Soon" The man gestured to himself then his wife.

Young-Soon was a shy lady, she didn't say much for the duration of the meeting. But she was clearly listening intently to the conversation being held.

By the end of the meeting Jimin knew he had won them over. It was clear to see, their postures had become less ridged, more comfortable. The addition of request to meet again was also proposed which confirmed Jimin's suspicions.

It would take a few meetings before he could work his magic.

Jaymin was tired, so so tired. It felt like he was wasting away. Rin his ever loyal shifter rested his large head on the human's thighs. Jaymin hated to admit it, but 8 years in prison in relative isolation was taking a bigger toll on him than he realised.

He always tried to strike up conversations with the prison guards, they deemed him dangerous to need a guard at the cell door at all times. It felt good to know he struck up such a fearful response from the government he continued to defy to this very day.

Some of the guards bit the prompt and he would get some interaction with another human being aside from his one sided conversations with Rin. He knew the shifter had many things to say, he often made different noises in response to questions and general conversation.

The guards changed again, this man was different, a new guard. Perhaps Jaymin could work his charm on him.

The guard took his post outside the cell entrance, his shifter took a seat beside his leg. It was a while before the guard broke the silence.

"Hello Jaymin, Rin" and just like that a smile broke out onto Jaymin's face.

"It is good to see you" Jaymin grinned.

Ha-kun inclined his head, but kept his face away from Jaymin's direction.

"How is Jimin?" that was the first thing out of Jaymin's mouth.

All the time trapped in the small cell, only increased his worry for his only precious son. He hated to think that Jimin would have just celebrated his 17th birthday, he was almost an adult and Jaymin had missed it all.

"I managed to get custody of him after you were arrested. He is such a brilliant boy, he managed to move up a school year since he was achieving past his own age group. He is now attending a prestigious university on a scholarship" Ha-kun revealed.

Jaymin breathed a sigh of relief, slumping back against the cell wall. Rin butted his head into Jaymin's hand to reassure him that he was there, and that he was proud of Jimin too.

"I'm worried Jaymin, truly I am" Ha-kun confessed.

"What why?" Jaymin was startled out of his moment of peace.

"Jimin while he has grown up to be brilliant, he seems to have a plan. I don't know what it is, but I feel it will be reckless. I am concerned for his safety, what would you advise me to do as his father" Ha-kun asked.

"I can't offer you much, Jimin has always been a headstrong kid who won't let anyone get in the way of his goals. But I would tell him to slow down, take a deep breath and think it through. It used to always calm him down when he was overwhelmed" Jaymin offered.

But all that was playing over and over in his mind was, what was Jimin planning. And most importantly, should he be concerned?
