"I just--I can't believe this," the door clicked open, and I grabbed the Kree weapon, ready to strike at the intruder.
"No, no, no, no! He's alright. He's alright," Daisy said, and I lowered it slightly.
"How did you get that Kreeper's axe? Please tell me he was sweet on you," the man said. "You killed a Kree?" he questioned, finding the body.
"It was us or them," I defended.
"Well, you made the wrong choice," he snapped.
"Is that gonna be a problem?" Mack questioned.
"Two? You killed two? That's only gonna a problem for the herd of people they're gonna kill in retaliation. We got to cover this up," he said.
"What do you think we're doing?" I questioned.
"We could just make it look like an accident," Daisy suggested.
"Shut up! Just let me think," the man said.
"Wait a minute. What if we leave them upstairs with the other bodies? Use the elevator?" I suggested.
"We can't exactly be seen in the lift with a pair of dead guards," he said.
"Well, I can deal with that issue," I shrugged.
"We don't have to put them in the elevator either," Mack added.
"Alright, well, I hope you saved some of your energy there, Tiny,"
-
"You couldn't have told us there was a skylight?" Mack questioned as we looked up at the blatantly obvious Kree bodies.
"What's a skylight?" the man--Deke--questioned.
"Oh, man. It is what it is,"
-
The doors to the elevator slid open, revealing a bustling hallway and a jam-packed cafeteria.
"Hey," I nodded towards the other half of our group, who were standing at the corner.
"At least you're okay," Coulson said.
"What do you mean? Wait, where's Simmons?" Daisy asked.
"The Kree took her," my temper flared, and my arms started to glitch out.
"We have to get Simmons," Daisy said. "Hit them hard and fast and get up to the surface."
"There's barely any surface left, Daisy," May countered. "The planet's been blown apart."
"And what's there is uninhabitable. So out, not an option. As far as in here..." Coulson trailed off.
"I'll get Simmons. They won't know what hit them," I volunteered.
"Hey, hold up. No one knows you three have abilities, so let's keep it that way. For the moment. But right now...at this moment, we don't know jack squat about anything," Mack said, rubbing my back slightly. My fingers uncurled, my arms returning to normal.
"Including where Simmons is being held," Coulson added.
"Deke. He seems to have this place dialed in. He might know," Daisy said.
"He's too afraid of making noises," Yo-Yo said.
"Yeah, but that's because he's protecting himself. He has a scam up and running," she said.
"He's afraid we're gonna blow it for him," he added. "I agree."
"I'll tail him, dig up some dirt, encourage him to help us," she said.
