"They're killing people--innocent people," Coulson reported, closing the door.
"In their hunt for me," Flint exclaimed.
"We're not gonna let anything happen to you," Mack assured him.
"We need to make a move on the Kree," I said, shifting my weight.
"Not with Daisy and Simmons still captive," Coulson countered. "We need to get out of the Lighthouse."
"So instead of rescuing them, we abandon them?" I questioned.
"We don't have a choice right now. They would do the same thing," Coulson said.
"I agree. We regroup and come back for them more prepared," unfortunately, their logic was pretty sound.
"Where would we even go?" I asked. "There aren't exactly a lot of spots to hide in space."
"To the point at the end of this giant question mark--the surface," Coulson said.
"Where is Tess?!" Flint questioned loudly. Oh, no. We must've been so hung up in our plan we forgot about Flint and Tess.
A thick, heavy silence filled the room. It didn't take a genius to figure it out.
"Did something happen? Is she...?" Flint trailed off.
"I'm sorry," Flint bowed his head, before leaving the room in distress. I moved to follow him, but Mack stopped me.
"It's okay. I got this,"
-
There was a pounding on the door, and I summoned a knife made of air, creeping towards the pounding.
"Thought they'd be here." Daisy.
"Daisy? How did you escape?" Coulson asked as the doors open.
"Clumsily. Hey," we exchanged a hug, both relieved the other was alive.
"Fitz!" What?
"Turbo! Man, it's good to see you! How the hell you get in the future?" Mack exclaimed.
"Uh, the long way," there was another person with him.
"He needs medical attention. Storytime can wait," Simmons! I guess the band's back together.
"Well, not when those stories include time travel," Mack said. The doors closed and we turned around, my grip tightening around my weapon. Deke.
"This guy? The hell you doing here? And how'd you get out of your cage?" Mack questioned.
"Well, I let myself out, but thanks very much for your concern," Deke retorted.
"Well, the gang's all here. Except for May and Yo-Yo," I said.
"They were taken to the surface?" Coulson asked.
"Yeah," Fitz confirmed.
"That's a good thing," he claimed.
"Is it?" Daisy and I questioned.
"We need alcohol for his wound," Jemma said.
"I'll see if Flint can find something," Mack volunteered.
-
"What are his powers again?" Daisy asked. We had gone to get Flint, who had went to turn himself in.
"He can move rocks with his mind," I said.
"How is he in a fight?" she asked.
"Undisciplined, but I'm guessing not incompetent. He's in over his head on this one, though. We all might be, but...it's never stopped us before," we rounded the corner, our hands up.
