"Get out! What are you still doing here?! Get out!" My dad yelled as he laid in his hospital bed.

I ran as quick as my feet would carry me and tripped down the hall. My dad's angry tone filled my ears and I covered my ears and screamed.

I gasped as I woke up from my nightmare.

"Shh, it's okay. It was just a dream," Kyle's voice soothed.

I regained my breathing and laid my head on Kyle's shoulder. "Where is everyone?"

"Danny and Vince are asleep. It's 3:20 in the morning," he said.

I looked around me and realized how dark everything was and saw Danny and Vince sleeping on the floor.

"Why're they on the floor?" I asked.

"There's no telling," he chuckled.

"Why are you awake?" I asked him.

"Couldn't sleep," he said.

I looked at Kyle only to find him looking down at me. He was stroking my hair and holding me in a way I wasn't used to. Similar to Danny's actions, in a way.

"You should get some sleep," I said, resting my head on the arm of the couch.

Kyle draped a blanket over me. "You too."

I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep.

Sunlight filled the living room and I faced away from it. It had been a restless night and I wanted more sleep.

"Should we wake her?" Vince asked.

"No," Kyle said. "She didn't sleep well. She had a nightmare."

"Do you know what about?" Danny asked.

"I'm assuming something to do with her dad. He just passed away yesterday," Kyle said.

"Yeah," Danny said.

It was silent and I curled up more into a ball. I wasn't ready to face the world, face the day. All I wanted was to just lay here and mourn my dad. But I couldn't if I just let my boys stay here. They deserved a better friend than me.

I sat up on the couch and they smiled at me.

"Guys, I think you should go home. This isn't fair to you," I said.

"But--"

"No. I'll just bring you all down. None of you need that. You deserve a better friend than me," I said.

"We couldn't ask for a better friend," Danny said.

"Everyone has hardships. And everyone needs help," Kyle added.

"We're here for you, Abs," Vince said.

"I'm just letting you know now, I'm not gonna be happy for a while," I said.

"We don't expect you to be," Kyle put a hand on my shoulder.

I was insanely lucky to have amazing friends.
