Eeeeeeeee!!!!! I would like to ask, what is the first thing that comes to your mind when I say 'sex education'?
Some would say, teaching about sex.... Some would say about gender???? IDK what you guys think it is *awkward smile*.
Welllll.... I have not done any research about this topic and it was also not taught in my school (oooo conservative society *eye roll*)
These are the topics that I think should be in sex education and why I think it should be added as a subject in every school.
How do I start????? *frustrated* or should I say *trusfrated*
I think that the basic topic that should be under sex education should be 'puberty'.... I think that this should be a topic that has to be taken in the 7th or 8th grade (when the children are around 11 to 12 years).Because I got my 1st period on my 12th birthday and I did not know why the hell I was bleeding, around a month before I had severe chest pains and when I saw the blood, I seriously thought that I had some sort of cancer (because we are all taught about chronic killing cells rather than a natural process). Boys also undergo puberty but since I don't have a lot of knowledge about that I don't know what to say about that. But yeah, the complete topic of puberty should be taught to us.
Then maybe about sexual desire, m*sturbation, hygiene and topics like that. Because of these things not taught properly, many are confused what are those feelings and how to do it properly...... when not taught properly about hygiene, the person might get some STD or even worse could get pregnant (when not intended to get pregnant).
And also, it could have some topics about sexuality, because there are not only 2 genders and 1 type of sexuality, there are many genders and many identities. So, for confuse teens it could help a lot, because it could confirm whatever they are feeling is not wrong. It is just a part of human being to have sexual desire towards other or not even having one, to whom we have it is not something we could control because it is natural.
Some other topics could be safety measures, the process, the development, to respect every gender and sexuality. (I am out of ideas in this topic)
I think that this chapter is gonna be short because I don't know much about this *awkward smile*
The most that I learnt anything about sex education was on my 12th grade (only taught to science group students) because STD and mensuration were taught in biology and were important long answer which would be asked in the final exams *head slap* . Nothing more and nothing less.
To conclude, sexeducation is important and should be taught in every schools. It is importantto be taught from the basics in 7th grade and the more complex topics as thegrades get higher. It is not wrong to learn about our own body.
