Social media..... hmmmmm I don't know where to start. But as many elders used to say "Social media is good when used right". I think that is true tho.

I guess social media started out with Facebook (Idk if I am correct or not), and over the years lots and lots of social media has formed.

I used to have Facebook and instagram when I was in my 9th grade. In my 10th grade I deleted my Facebook (only because I did not have a use for it anymore). I remember that I used to just post only my selfies in instagram at that time *embarrassed*. But as years went by, now I just deleted all my posts and follow only my friends and maybe sometimes post some stories.

The social medias that I use are (I don't know whether the apps I mention are social media or not).

* Instagram (just to be updated about my friends) - Instagram was scarier for me when I first started using it, because random people used to give me friend request and I was naive enough to accept those requests (bad decisions of my life). Never talk to random people through sns (it never ends good, or at least for me it never ended good). The next thing that I learned through instagram is that, what others show in their posts is not their or others reality (the hard way tho). Just restrict or block the accounts that bother you the most, cause me being a 40kg girl (at my 9th grade) thought that I was overweight when looking at a lot of people in the "for you" page, and that was not healthy at all at that time. Don't get me wrong, But I love myself each and every inch of myself now, 9th grade me was just a bad phase in my life. I just blocked unwanted contents and turned my instagram algorithm towards jewels and song lyrics, which refreshed my mind a lot. And mostly I use insta to leave a like on my friends posts and to chat with my long-distance bestie. (update 2024, nowadays I find Instagram as a place to share my stories and everyday life. I follow and accept requests of people I know irl so that I know it's a comfort place for me to share whatever I have in mind)

* Twitter (to be updated about what is happening around me) - I find twitter as an interesting space, because I just keep my account private and follow a lot of my favourite singers, just so I could be updated soon their new upcoming album or son or whatever. Twitter is the space where I try to figure out what is happening in my country and all around the world. Basically, I am just a spectator here and nothing more.

* Pinterest (for Inpso) - Pinterest is basically for me to whine over TVD characters and my favourite singers, but also since I am a craft person, I tend to learn all the upcoming and types of art that I could try at home. Pinterest is an all-in-one space to just inspire me in lots of ways

* Whatsapp (mainly for my college group chats) - Just an app like iMessages but does not come preinstalled in the phone. Just normal stuff in this tho, nothing much. Just my mom sending thumbs up emojis, dad sending good morning quotes, brother not acknowledging that he has a sister, friends with same mentality and a group chat for college classes and events that remains silent. *thumbs up*

* Snapchat (Just for streaks, idek why tho) - I just ignore requests from people idk and accept and maintain a snap streak with people close to me. Yeah, idk what snapchat is but for basically. But I take a lot of pics with the filters provided and save them in the only my eyes side. *peace sign* (update 2024, I deleted snapchat)

* Discord (not using much now a days) - Used it for a month but still now don't know what the purpose is, so it is staying at a corner in my phone.

* Hangouts (cuz why not) - Just used this when I did not have a phone number, now this app just sits in an unknown corner.

* Youtube (to mainly watch MAI PHAM's videos) - What could possibly go wrong with YouTube. I binge watch Mai Pham's videos a lot, because she is one of the realistic youtubers out there and I like her energy. Other than that, I use YouTube to learn a new skill, like I learned to knit, weave, make jewels, DIY and stuffs.

* Vlive (to be updated in K-pop) - If you don't know what Vlive is, it is basically an app that is like YouTube but has more feature than YouTube, which contains contents only by K-pop artists and idols. They do lives and post their mv's and reality shows etc, it also has specific space for only the fandom to interact with themselves. It is a fun app. (Update 2024, VLive is gone now)

So, to conclude, yeah, I guess basically too much of anything is a poison, learn to have a limit on what you use and how you use. Don't let something online to get to your brain. You can always learn a lot if you put your mind to it.
