So, after attending my brother's wedding, @finleyjames and I went ahead to spend the rest of the weekend in Tagaytay — just the two of us. I was really excited, because I always look forward to long drives with my boyfriend. After all, sa isang late-night road trip kami unang nagkapalagayan ng loob.
Little did I know that I'm going home from that weekend getaway as an engaged woman. That wasn't part of the plan... or so I thought.
It wasn't part of the plan, letting Fin into my life. It wasn't part of the plan, allowing him to break down the walls I built around me, after enduring so many heartbreaks. And it definitely wasn't part of the plan, granting myself one last chance to love and hoping that I'd get loved in return.
But all of that happened, anyway.
Thank you, @finleyjames, for proving that I deserve to be happy. Thank you for never leaving my side, especially after I experienced one of the most traumatic moments of my life. Thank you, for always reminding me of my worth. And thank you for loving me more than anyone else in the world.
We haven't been together for long yet. In fact, we haven't even celebrated our first anniversary as a couple. But before asking me The Question, you told me how from the very beginning, you already knew I was different. That I was special. That it took you sooner than you thought it was possible to realize that I'm the one you want to spend the rest of your life with.
And that's exactly how I feel, too. I knew, from the moment you insisted we go to that late-night road trip, that we are in for the long haul. So, without any trace of hesitation, I said "yes".
