I bounced back and forth on my heels, and gave myself a little pep talk as I faced the entrance. "Come on, Odette." I muttered to myself. "This is the only way to find out if it's true or not."
"Figured I'd see you here." A familiar voice said and I bared myself.
"Oh good, it's you." I mumbled. My double stood across from me from the entrance, smirking like the devil she is.
"Don't look so surprised." she rolled her eyes. She held her hand out to me, "Nice to meet you, I'm Sophie." I ignored her handshake and crossed my arms in response. Why would I give her the satisfaction of stooping to her level? "Having fun figuring out the mysteries of yourself?" She waited for my reply, but then she saw how surprised I was and she gasped with a smile, "Oooh, you're not."
"No, because it's impossible." I shook my head in denial, and started arguing back. "Y-you can't be my twin. There's no way there can be two of me. I'm an only child!"
Sophie sighed, with her hand over her head. You won't get anywhere if you keep being in denial. Just accept the fact that you're no longer alone, Odette."
I clenched my hands into fists, and I growled. "How can I accept it when you've hurt Damien and killed Celeste?" I asked. "
"Wow." Sophie applauded as if she was amused. "So cute, you think you know everything." she teased, grinning at me. Without thinking, I threw myself at her, scoffing in frustration. We both went down hard. I held her down, just like I did the other day, and she grabbed the shovel right beside her to smash it against the left side of my face.
I grunted and stumbled on my feet. Once I regained balance, I rubbed the side of my face. I snarled in response, "You think you can get rid of me?"
"I think I can. You just don't want to admit to yourself that you're so weak!" she snapped at me, and I was blinded by rage. "I've already told you, I'm a better version of you." Sophie stood back up the way I did, and whacked me on the other side of the face.
My head whipped to the right and I managed to spit whatever got in my mouth. "You don't want to do this."
"Oh, I think I do." She said, her eyes glowing again.
"Let's get your personality crisis checked out." I glowered at her. We were both circling around each other, bared from head to toe, wondering who would win this battle.
I roundhouse kicked her right in the face and we exchanged a lot of bruised punches.
We probably kept at it for five minutes and then I braced myself when I saw the headlights from a car coming straight for us. "Odette, move!" A familiar voice yelled. Damien. "Or...well, the real one anyways!"
I started to move but he ended up hitting me instead. I was knocked off my feet and I was flying backwards until I hit a tombstone near me. I let out a loud, maybe satisfying, "Oof!" and my head slammed against a tombstone nearby.
The car screeched to a stop and I could just barely see Sophie trying not to smile at what had happened. "Hey, fast and furious!!" I shouted at Damien, angrily. I got back up on my feet. "Are you nuts?! You want me dead again?"
"Excuse me for the low depth perception!" Damien snapped back as he was climbing out of the car halfway. "Kinda difficult to know which one is who out here in the dark!"
"Right, sorry, I forgot, you're the one who doesn't have night vision like us." I rolled my eyes, sarcastically, even though it was true. I popped whatever was out of place in my joints back in place and I stretched. Damien and I ended up yelling at each other back and forth and Sophie sat back in amusement.
