I have this app on my phone called DailyArt which features paintings around the world, along with their backstories and funny commentaries from the editors, and I stumbled upon one of Grant Wood's painting. I remembered there's this "The Shining" fan poster on the internet with Wendy and Jack's faces slapped on "American Gothic", and I thought it's a cool concept that I should try!

But I think my finished product is... weird. Not weird design-wise - I have to admit that I'm proud of it, despite the awkward head manipulation - but the combo in that picture doesn't make sense! Although Laura Palmer would've been a better fit for the cover, I decided to go with Donna Hayward. She's sooo underrated compared to the other girls from the show! And something about Laura's face just makes me sad. I had no idea whose face should be manipulated onto the father's face, so I made it like that to look mysterious, with Lynchian-kinda vibe...
So for contexts, the "Americana Lore" cover is heavily inspired by "Twin Peaks", a show created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. It's an absolute masterpiece (of course, it's David Lynch!) but the ending is depressingly bittersweet and I went:

LIKE??? I WATCH THIS FOR WHOLESOME DALE COOPER CONTENTS AND NOT FOR THIS EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER!!! I highly recommend it, though. Plus, you should see Betty's mom from "Riverdale" in the 90's.
