I can't blame her though, he looks pretty cute.
After meeting some of the other cast members, an older man called the writers to gather in the writing office.
We're walking with a group of maybe ten people to a big office next to the set. It's nicely decorated with a lot of desks and chairs.
I meet my team and find out that most of them are actually on the same level as me. I kind of expected them to be experienced writers, but I guess not. They're all quite young and full of energy.
A tall girl with black, curly hair and little freckles on her cheeks and nose started talking to me when we were heading to the office. At first she came across as shy, but she turns out to be the complete opposite of that.
The girl introduced herself as Leah Rosefield. This project was also her first job as a screenwriter and she was just as excited as me. We already have a few things in common and she's fun to talk to. Besides, it's always nice to get to know someone on the first day. I wasn't planning on being an outsider.
"Have you met the cast yet?" Leah whispers as we sit next to each other, listening to an older man who's supposed to be the head writer. I nod and I try to hide my grin.
"Oh I see you've already met someone," she says, trying to whisper, but instead it comes out with a laugh. The older man who's giving us a quick speech, raises his eyebrows and looks at us with a stern look, warning us to pay attention at his words. We both give him a nod, gesturing him to move on as he continues his speech.
Leah turns her head back to me and wiggles her eyebrows. I just stare at her in confusion. I don't want to cause any more trouble since the day barely started.
"So? Who is it?" she whispers, trying to avoid laughing again. I still didn't know what she was talking about, until I notice my cheeks were getting warm. I roll my eyes but can't help myself smiling.
"It's Charlie, isn't it?" she asks and I nod a bit uncertainly, wondering how she knows.
"Oh come on, it's not that hard. He's hella attractive," she adds as if she can read my mind.
"But don't worry, he's not my type. I like that Jeremy guy."
Now I am the one trying to hold back my laugh. My hand covers my mouth as I'm till trying to hold myself back from laughing. "Oh my God, Leah, you do know he has a girlfriend?" I whisper, still covering my mouth. She nods and shrugs her shoulders, like she doesn't even care about his girlfriend.
"I know, and they're adorable, but that doesn't mean I can't have a crush on him. Besides, you see that guy over there?" She points discreetly across the table, where a guy is sitting around our age. I can't blame her though, he looks pretty cute. He has brown, curly hair and his hazel eyes match his hair well. His cheeks are a little red, which looks adorable.
My gaze rests on him for a moment while Leah continues talking, until the guy turns his head to me and our eyes make contact. I feel my cheeks flush and I quickly look the other way around, trying to pay attention to the speech the man is still making.
After the man named Andrew finished talking, we had to get to work. Andrew turns out the be the chief editor.
Leah's job is to arrange the locations where we can film, and she has to keep an eye on the organization's budget. She also works out all of the performances, so she has to help direct the first performance of Sunset Curve.
I had already started working out the characters at home, because they had to be finished before filming. Now I can continue writing the upcoming episodes with the other people in our team.
