"Then prove me."

J U N E

The sound of the tapping rain against my window wakes me up. I ly in my bed, though I don't remember falling asleep in my room last night. Someone must have carried me, or it was just a dream.

I check my phone to see what time it is as it's still a bit dark outside. The big letters on my lock screen tell me 6:04 am, and I groan in annoyance. I know I won't fall asleep once I'm awake, so I decide to just get up and take a quick shower.

Once I get out of the shower, I wrap a towel around me and walk with my flip flops on my feet to the kitchen to get some breakfast.

I'm warming up some pancakes that were left in the fridge, when I hear someone opening our door lock. Jace and Charlie step inside, looking around as if they'd been caught stealing. They're both in their pajamas, at least, that's what it looks like. Charlie is only wearing sweatpants, so obviously I can't help but glance at his revealed, muscular body. Damn.

But luckily, I quickly look away before he catches me staring. When they notice me standing with my hands on my hips and my eyebrows raised, their eyes widened.

I'm almost certain that I saw Charlie scanning me sneakily up and down. Jace tries to look the other way, not wanting to be rude. He has a white towel in his hands, but I don't bother asking what it's for. Speaking of towels, I forgot I'm only wearing a towel, so I quickly wrap my arms around myself, feeling a little embarrassed.

"What the hell are you guys doing here? It's seven in the morning for God's sake," I snap, locking eyes with Charlie. He clears his throat and stands awkwardly in the doorway, rubbing his hand against his arm.

"Sorry, we didn't know you were up already. I forgot my phone last night so I just wanted to grab it and head back," he explains.

I notice Jace has already disappeared in the bathroom, so we're the only ones in the room. And not to forget: both half-naked.

I sigh and roll my eyes. I don't want to come off as a bitch by rolling my eyes all the time, but I just can't deal with this so early in the morning. "Whatever, it's fine. And what is Jace doing in our bathroom?"

He raises an eyebrow and walks toward the living room to look for his phone. "Someone is moody today. Thought you were gonna sleep peacefully in your bed, otherwise I would've left you on the couch last night."

I frown my eyebrows as I help him look between all of the pillows on the large couch. "So you're the reason I woke up in my bed this morning. I was already wondering how I got there."

He smiles and shrugs. "Yeah, you're welcome. Oh, and we're getting cold water out of our shower so we'll use yours till it's fixed."

I try to hide my blush from the fact that he carried me to my room last night. He holds up his phone that he'd found behind one of the pillows. A few moments later, we hear splashing water and Jace's voice sing loudly.

"Hope that's okay, because as you can hear you don't really have a choice," he continues with a chuckle, pointing to the bathroom door.

I chuckle and walk back to the kitchen. "Since it wasn't a question, I'll answer it for you," I say. "Yes of course you can use our shower, thanks for asking!" I continue sarcastically, which makes Charlie laugh.
