"Please not now, Charlie."
Savannah, Madison and I walk off the stairs towards the set. A new week has started and I still haven't talked to Charlie since what happened at Saturday morning. Savannah told me to leave him alone for a few days, and then we could talk.
My cousin Quinn arrives in the same hotel tomorrow. I called her yesterday and told her all about what happened at dinner and after dinner. She was shocked but also proud of me for being what she called, a 'bad bitch'. The only thing she talks about now is that we should start dating. But things are complicated at the moment, so she can put that idea out of her mind before she starts planning the wedding.
I didn't tell her about his ex-girlfriend, I didn't tell anyone. It was still a personal thing and it's for him to tell. Besides, I don't want to lose his trust.
Oh and also, Savannah and Jace are now a thing. They are both super vague about the whole situation, so it's not official yet but they'll get there. Well, if Leah doesn't stand in the way. You see, before Sav and Jace slept together, Leah and Jace were also a 'thing'. So yeah, that's complicated.
After walking the endless corridors, we finally reach the large door with the familiar golden letters written on it. We go inside and Kenny greets us with a big smile on his face, he's clearly in a happy mood.
"Did you have a nice weekend, girls? Don't get used to it, because you don't get every weekend off. This was just because it was the first week of shooting," Kenny says. We all nod and mumble something inaudible to his question, not sure if we can call it a 'nice weekend'.
Kenny gives two thumbs up and walks over to one of the crew members. I say good luck and goodbye to Madi and Sav, and make my way to the writing office.
On my way there, I see Charlie in the corner of my eye. He's practicing his lines in front of a giant mirror. He glances at me through the reflection of the mirror, but he does nothing— not even a simple wave or nod.
Leave it, he probably needs some more time, I hear Savannah's voice in the back of my head. And she is right, he'll come to me when he's ready. I walk pass him in a straight line without making any eye contact.
I arrive at the writing office and everyone is already there— including Leah and Jace. They sit across each other but aren't talking, they don't even look at the other. God, it's embarrassing to look at.
"Hi Lee," I say as I settle down on the seat next to her. She immediately looks up and starts talking. "Finally, you're here. What took you so damn long? Well, doesn't matter. You have to help me, it's so awkward with Jace. He's acting like I'm not here, and I literally don't know what to do. Please, you have to help me."
She whispers very loudly, so I put my finger to my lips, hoping she turns her volume down a bit. "Don't talk so loud, he can hear you. And don't worry, I'll talk to him after Andrew's instruction, okay?"
"Fine," she whispers reluctantly. A few moments later, Andrew gives us a quick speech and divides the tasks. Jace and I have to align episodes six and seven, which we worked on last Friday with Leah.
Speaking of Leah, she has to help with the performances again, so it's just Jace and me. This is my opportunity to ask him about the Savannah-Leah situation.
"So Jace," I begin while I take my laptop out of my bag, opening it and pressing on the power button. He looks up at me and groans, already knowing what I'm aiming for. "Why do I have this feeling you're gonna ask about the drama that's been going on?"
I laugh and nod indulgently. "You're a good guesser, but I wouldn't call it drama. So explain me, are you with Sav now or...?"
He shrugs and clicks his pen. "Not sure yet, how does she feel about it?"
