Sweat trickled down Jay's forehead as he stood panting, Heeseung squatting at his legs.

In a single day, there were twelve attacks on them and the numbers didn't feel like they would go down. "What is happening all of a sudden?" Heeseung breathed, "It feels like the entire city has turned against us."

Feels like Neocity became their enemy.

"I don't even know. We need to dig deeper into this. Most groups don't attack others unless provoked or threatened. Most of them mind their own work."

Jay looked down at Heeseung, his eyes rummaging through his features, "Do you think-" Just then a knife flew past his cheek in a blink.

It was clear that the one who threw the knife had weak precision, but it was even more clear that this was the 13th attack.

A head bobbed towards them quickly, causing Heeseung to jump onto feet. Two more came from behind, their knives out in the open, all running towards them.

In a flash, Jay was pinned beneath the two while Heeseung was held by his neck by the other, his hands struggling frantically.

"Leave me you bastard!" Swore Heeseung, receiving an amused grunt from the other, "What did we even do to you?"

The man laughed cruelly in his ear, "What did you do? How can you ask that when you clearly killed our men? You shot him in the head, didn't you?"

When did he even do that?

"Stop spewing nonsense, none of us did that." Jay said villainously, his breath erratic, "We never involved ourselves in other gangs. I don't know who you saw, but that ain't us."

Perhaps this unusual confession caused the man some confusion, for his muscles relaxed a bit. With such a perfect chance, Heeseung tore through his grip, choking the man instead.

The other two fastened their grip on Jay and watched their boss battle with Heeseung, tumbling around in that spot.

"You little brat!" Growled the man, "What makes you think you can actually fight me?" A punch landed squarely on Heeseung's right jaw.

Blood fell like rain.

Heeseung felt his skin scream with pain, it was rare that he ever went for one on one fights. The man then pointed his gun, "Now say goodbye to the world."

Before Heeseung could hear the trigger, the man was thrown off him in a jerk. Strong arms picked him up straight and Heeseung knew that they belonged to Jay.

Jay, who was still here, who would still be in danger if he died.

The thought of Jay fuelled him and he hurled towards the other two. With only his knife, he swiftly cut their necks, somehow very good at the act.

From the corner of his eye, he could see Jay shoot the man, the gun pressed to his throat. And when he lifted the man, Heeseung saw the penetrated bullets lying on the floor.

Such cruelty, all for him.

In a still moment, they remained breathless. Heeseung could see the other bleed from his face, a scar settled deep on his cheek bone.

"Jay, are you fine-" Before Heeseung could ask, his shirt was grabbed by the other, lips pressing down firmly on his own.

Oh my.

Maybe it was the craze of being alive, the euphoria of surviving. Or perhaps it was from the fear of the other getting hurt, the wish to keep each other sane, safe.

Either way, it was a good thing.

Heeseung's knew his lips were ice cold, but Jay didn't seem to mind it all and nor did Heeseung care about the metallic taste that filled his mouth.

The blood from Jay's cut mingled together with his sweat and seeped down onto his face, painting him like a brilliant vermilion rose that shone in the night.

He could taste Jay's passion, his love and his blood.

Heeseung's hands were on Jay's shirt, clutching tightly. Everything felt like it was spinning around them in frenzy, but they were in the eye of it, safe from all the rushed happenings.

The feeling was strong and beautiful, like thunder in the night sky. It was so vibrant, so loud and clear. It sizzled his soul, but somehow made him stronger, conducting its charge into him.

But yet, it was miraculously soft, tender and gentle. How Jay managed to make him feel like this after killing someone was something extremely amazing to the other.

"You're perfect." Jay whispered.

And then he pulled back, his eyes narrow and gentle, "Anything you want to say?" He looked at Heeseung like he was the most precious thing in the world. .

Heeseung sat still, his hands reaching his lips. He didn't understand what to say, but he was definitely sure of one thing.

"You're hot."
