Chapter 1 |A New Friend

Armin POV:

I didn't want to wake up. The unholy light of the sun came bursting through my window and had made me have to actually get up out of my nest of blankets to move the curtains closer together. By then, all my sleepiness had abandoned me and I was forced to stay awake. A small groan escaped my throat as I looked into the mirror and saw my blonde hair in a post-tornado situation. After brushing it quickly and changing into a somewhat decent outfit, I flopped down onto my bed and laid there for a bit.

As I brought myself downstairs struggling from being in a bit of pain, i walked over to the coffee machine. I then poured water into it and got out some coffee beans, i began making the coffee. Mom was waiting and had a deep cold stair watching me she then said "Hurry i have things to do and do not even think of leaving the house beside getting groceries." i looked at her and nodded as i poured the coffee into a mug i grabbed from the cabinet shakily trying not to miss the cup since i had been trembling. She then yanked the cup out of his hand and spilt some onto me. I covered my mouth quickly trying not to yell as tears formed into my eyes. I began putting my hand under water and held my mouth with his other hand in pain trying not to make any noise. Mother then said "Im leaving get groceries nothing else. father will be home at 6." she said yanking my blonde locks tightly intimidating me to not even think about doing anything else besides shopping for groceries. She handed me a list. I saw her car pull out of the drive way. I sighed since I'd have to walk. I made my way to the grocery store right by it was a library I could go next.

I took the grocery list out of my pocket and read it's contents. 

Fish spices  Lemons 
1/4 pound of fish 
Cheddar cheese 
Guava juice 

Okay, guava juice sounds absolutely disgusting.  I set to work finding all the groceries. Including the guava juice, which looked about as bad as it sounded. After I had paid, I carried the groceries in my hands and walked to the library.  The library was comforting to me. My grandfather would always take me here and helped me find good books. Sometimes he would read to me and other times I would try to read to him.  I moved a piece of my blonde hair out if my eyes as I walked into the building. You probably weren't allowed to take food into here, but nobody was really here to stop me anyway.  I wandered over to the non fiction section and set my bags of groceries on a chair. After looking around for a bit, I found a book with a old looking cover. I picked it up and noticed it was about abuse or something like that it explained on the back. As I was reading the back of the book, I decided to get it and look into the subject. I stood up not knowing were I was going and tripped on someone else's shoe. I gasped as I felt a hand around my waist stopping my fall. I dropped my book onto the floor.  "Sorry, sorry, sorry.." I heard a voice apologize over and over again. Once my vision refocused, I saw a boy a bit taller than me holding my book out to me. His brown hair fell over his eyes a bit, which I noticed were a beautiful shade of green.  "I'm sorry," The boy said again, before gesturing to the book. "You, uh..you dropped this." He took a look at the book reading the back of the book to see what it was about he scanned it with his eyes after shrugging it off and said "Why this it seams depressing?"
I shrugged he then dropped the subject. He then put his hand out at me to shake my hand and he then said " Im Eren Yeager.." I then said "O-Oh im Armin Arlert".. I looked at him as our eyes locked he then grabbed my hand i then looked nervously he looked at me feeling some of my cuts when he grabbed my hand my sleeve went up a bit he then said "Wha- whats that" I said stuttering in embarrassment "I-its nothing.." He shook it off since he believed me and said "Hey i did hurt you didnt i here wanna go to the coffee shop with me?" He said while scratching the back of his neck and blushing lightly. I said in response "Wha- Really me?" Eren said "Of course im not asking the librarian" He said sarcastically. I smiled back at him trying to hide my blush and he held my hand we walked out to the coffee shop next door. Eren then said "Its only fair since i hurt you do you think i can have youre number we could be friends if y-youd like and ive seen you in most my classes." He said in embarrassment. I said in response "I-i youve seen me??? In class wow creepy" i laughed it off as a joke but really ive only had 2 contacts on my phone of course id say yes i have no friends. So i nodded after and as we sat down in this adorable coffee shop we began talking a lot we laughed for a long time and got close. I realized it had been a long time since he left to the library Eren pulled out his phone and said "Wow we have been here for 3 hours and a few minutes" he then began to laugh and looked at me i had a very serious expresion he then said "A-Armin dude whats up you look serious come on chill" he then smiled I had not smiled back and in fear of being beat up my eyes started tearing and i realized my father must have been out at the bar that night since he was not home. I then said in a crying tone "w-what do y-you mean i-its been 3 hours!!!" Eren looked at me confused and said "H-Hey calm down its okay here hand me youre phone" He began typing his number in Armins contacts and secretly put boyfriend as the title of his name and he began to laugh.

Armin looked at the phone and blushed immediately as he saw it and he didnt have time to change the name so he left it Eren said "Want me to drive you home its raining pretty hard and dont cry its okay is someone worried about you or something why do you need to be home" Armin said "N-No no no its fine its all good i just ill walk" Eren held his hand as they took their drinks out to the trash and he said "Alrighty but ill walk with you if you want" Armin looked at him crazy and said "Eren youre car are you gonna just leave it" Eren pulled Armins hand and said "Alright come on we can drive to youre house its raining hard" They got into the car Armin pulled his seat belt on and led him to the directions of the house unluckily his fathers car was parked and he had probably been hung over or drunk. He knew he was about to get beaten and scolded he tried keeping the tears back as he unbuckled the seat belt. Eren smiled at him and said "Bye ill text you okay!" Armin tried to fake smile back at him and opened the car door as he trembled in fear of his father hurting him and his mother. Eren was confused and smiled to get the mood going after Armin walked over to the front door the look in his eyes looked painful and left Eren in curiosity.

As Armin walked to the door it had been open his father yanked his arm throwing him toward a wall he yelled "WERE IN THE HELL WERE YOU, YOU DUMB BITCH!" Armin couldnt respond to him the deep smell of alcohol filled the room. Armins mother was standing over near the counter and said "I told you to buy groceries that's it." She said as he lit her cigarette. The horrible smell of the smoke filled up the house it was a horrible sent as Armin zoned out he peered around the room seeing drugs, alcohol and cigarettes covering the room in horrible smells. The next thing Armin saw was everything blury his sight went fuzzy and black his father through a punch to his face and he had been passed out.

It had been about hours later when he woke up to the loud tv and his father laughing with his mother while they had been smoking weed and drinking alcohol. I had finally woken up notice I've been laying down with my face covered in blood from the punch. I felt a horrible metallic taste overflowing in my mouth it had been a bunch of blood I'd been coughing up blood. I struggled to get up getting my self to my bedroom my stomach aches my eyes were swollen and my head had been pounding I thought I'd die I looked at my phone and noticed I'd missed 21 calls and 14 texts from Eren he seamed worried I had the guts to answer him I called him he said "hey you okay you missed my calls it's okay you did you don't have to answer I was worried sorry.." I thought to myself he's worried wow we have only been friends for a while just wow.. I then responded in a teary voice in pain biting my lip to get it to go away "yeah I'm okay m-my phone had been off that all!" He then sounded confused and said "a-are you crying you're voice sounded a bit off" I explained that I'd been completely okay. We talked for a long time he made me feel so...

And felt this feelings when I talked to him I didn't know what it was but I passed out asleep since I'd been exhausted we agreed to meet up tomorrow since I had errands to run I could see him during them.
