Chapter 9 |Problems

Eren POV:

This was hard to get to the police station. Armin kept on trying to get out of the car whether he was opening the window or unlocking the door over and over. He seamed so freaked out about the situation. I knew i was doing the right thing, i hoped. I wonder why and what was going on inside his brain to make him stay there were they threatening him or something i dont understand. Armin just wouldnt understand why we needed to be at the police station. The blonde was honestly freaking out i had then answered a call from Annies cell phone. I was so confused but when i answered it Annie was balling her eyes out. I then said "Annie whats wrong?" Annie was silent and crying and screaming. Annie finally answered Erens question and said "Its M-mi...." she couldnt quite get it out for a while.. Slowly time went by and she was crying louder and she said "M-mikasas d... dead. MIKASAAAAAAAA!" she began screaming over the phone while holding Mikasas dead corpse. Erens eyes widened his skin went pale and he just looked traumatized. Armin overheard the situation he slapped his mouth so he didnt say anything and began crying. He looked outside at the rain that started. Annies voice on the line was so teary and she was crying so much she never cried. Eren then said "A-annie what happened to M-Mikasa..." Eren then began crying as he hugged Armin tightly for comfort. Armin couldnt comprehend what was happening until he slowly processed everything. Armin hugged Eren and cried more. Annie then said while screaming and crying "S-shes dead... A m-man killed her... SHES GONE EREN SHES GONE MIKASA IS GONE.." she began crying as she said "W-we are at your house e-eren." Eren called the cops as he hung up the phone with Annie. Armin and Eren cried more and more until they couldnt cry anymore.

-Months later-

Eren POV:

Their had been so many police investigations they found the guy. His name was Zeke Yeager, My half brother he said he did it because he was mad that i was born and jealous of me and Mikasa. He told the cops about how he was gonna kill me next. Luckily i was with Armin the cops told me. But i wasnt happy either way. I loved Armin more than anything Mikasa is gone now and it was confirmed that he killed Mikasa, My mother and father. The evidence was found and he was sentenced life in prison and a few other charges i hardly paid attention to the court members talking along with Zeke and his so called "Alibi" it wasnt even good and it was proven he was lying. So he was charged guilty and even if he pled not guilty he was still guilty since a lot of evidence was found throughout the home. I noticed Armin that entire time. He was so alone. He stopped talking to everything and stayed away for long periods of time. He stopped coming out of his room and stopped eating. I have noticed everything. I needed to know why. His parents were in fact abusive and when they were out he just got the chance to rest i get that but he never talked to me anymore and i was his Boyfriend. He was still currently living with his horrid parents. I decided to come over to his house he hadnt answered my texts and calls for the past month and i was too scared to come over cause his parents will hurt him and destroy his things. I came through the window opening it making not a single noise hopefully. I walked in slowly as my feet touched the floor he didnt notice me sadly. I came over to him and hugged him. Things honestly did get better for me. Him and Mikasa were close she was like his therapist and he was like hers. They talked about who they loved and everything he shared with Mikasa. She was the person he felt he could talk to. So i see how Armin felt. Armin flinched as i felt me hug him he then said "e-eren.. im so.. sorry i shouldve-" i stopped him their and said "Shhh its fine its not your fault alright i just wanted to talk to you ive missed you more than anyone and i just needed to talk to you.." Armin then pulled away and said "Eren... Im really really sorry.. I missed you a lot i missed you more than anything or anyone Eren i love you eren i just love you im sorry for not talking to anyone.. i just i couldnt i wasnt allowed.." I could see his tears streaming down his cheeks. My expression went from happy to see him to concerned quick i then said "We need to get you help like we shouldve a few months ago.." Armin shook his head and changed the subject quick and said "H-hows Annie she was her girlfriend so.. Is she okay." Armin looked a little better for that slight second until i had to share some indescribable information and i said "Shes dead too Armin.. Your all i have left" Armin couldnt cry anymore and covered his mouth so he didnt scream "Eren your your..... no tell me this is a j-joke......." I shook my head and said "I wish i could now come on we need you to get to the police station.. You look very pale as well are you feeling well?" He looked very sick.. i then moved my hands to his head he had a fever. I said "Armin are your parents home. Armin replied with a "no.. why?" I nodded and walked downstairs to find him some things for his fever. I found some medication that could lower his temperature. I grabbed a rag and soaked it in the ice water. I looked more around the house it was all messy and bottles and cans were every where drugs and cigarettes that were used and some just boxes lying around. I walked upstairs and put the rag on Armins head and made sure he laid down. Armin then looked at me confused and said "Eren im fine what are you doing" He then sat back up. I then said 'Lay down Armin you have a fever.. Are you okay is something wrong did your parents hit you have you eaten well are you drinking water?" Armin didnt know how to respond to any of the questions of course i knew if he was lying. He then looked down and shook his head at my questions. I then said "How long has this gone on Armin.." He shrugged and said "I was at least drinking water so its fine if i just drink water i can sleep my fever off later.."
I shook my head concerned and said "Armin.. why have you done this why aren't you eating why aren't you coming back to school why aren't you talking to anyone please Armin... we all miss you and I love you and I don't want you to die you're all I have now you know that so.. lay down I'll be right back." Armin sighed at what I said Armin then said "Eren wait.. I won't die I promise you okay.. I won't leave you alone." I smiled at what he said and I nodded giving him a hug as he then laid down again and I said "You better not.. I'll go make you something" Armin laughed and said "Yeah I wouldn't even try if I was you first of all there's hardly anything their and second you don't know how to cook" Armin giggled after saying the last one. I smiled again and said "Real funny Armin.. then we should go to my house." Armin looked down and said "fine but I better not get caught or else I'll- nevermind" he said stopping himself for a second. I knew what he was going to say his parents crossed the line at this point. I had a plan. I'm not being mean or anything but I'm going to call the cops when he settles at my house I need to make sure he eats and drinks and I need to make sure he's well. I picked up Armin bridal style.
He didn't care honestly he was exhausted and didn't seam like doing much to get away anyways. I walked out to my car and put him in the passengers seat. I buckled him him his fever only got worse. We got to my house I lived alone, No Mikasa or my mother nor father. It was horrible but now I was going to let Armin stay as long as he wanted. I was currently still mourning their deaths. I was sad and cried every night but with Armin he just made me feel so happy I was upset that he hadn't eaten either as well he could really hurt himself doing that. I picked him up again and closed my door and locked the car. I walked up toward my front door and unlocked it. Luckily the house was paid off I only had to pay for water bills and electricity. I put Armin upstairs in my bed as I got another rag and soaked it in some water. I put it on his head to calm down his fever. I then looked through my mother's recipe book and made a simple soup for Armin. I set it down on the nightstand and waited for him to wake up. I got some nice warm tea as well. I then looked at my phone i knew it would make Armin upset since every time I talked about it he said they would come back but I knew they wouldn't this time since they had no alibi. I thought for a second I wondered why Armin didn't let me call the police maybe he didn't wanna be an orphan who knows. I looked down and then picked up the phone and closed the door as I paced around the hallway. I told the police officer everything surprisingly he believed every word.
The police officer came over as we talked for a long time I then told him that Armin would probably lie.
The police officer nodded and said "well is there evidence that this is true" I nodded and said "His injuries."
