It's been two weeks since Jax has been home and the club has been quiet towards me. I haven't slept in the spare mattress since that first night. Jax has calmed down and does fight in his sleep.
I was asked to go run some errands. I had to drop off paperwork to the mayor and pick up some groceries. I wasn't allowed to look what was in the envelope I dropped off and I figured I didn't want to.
As I was walking out of the building, one of the doctors who worked on Jax came up to me. He seemed nervous and I didn't feel right about the whole situation. Why did he know where I was and he knew not to talk to anyone in the club after we took Jax out.
"Hey I was wondering if you were free right now? I wanted to grab some coffee. I know I'm not supposed to be around you right now but I can't check up on Jax. I need to know how he is doing."
I stood there in amazement. I walked up to him and was very pissed. He knew not to say his name. Jax wasn't supposed to be known till he was fully recovered and HE made the decision to come back into the light of day.
"I don't know what you are doing but no. You aren't supposed to be around me. You aren't supposed to say his name. You are risking everything. Please, if you need something, call the shop."
I was walking off to my car when I feel him grab my arm. I whip myself around and go to slap him. He catches my other one and a black van pulls up next to us.
"I really wish you had chose the easier way to do this. I was trying to be safe now they have to do this where people could possibly see. I'm so sorry. I wanted nothing to do with this."
He shoved me hard into a van. Three men caught me and the door was closed before I could make a sound. They threw a bag over my head. I never saw what these men looked like because of the masks they had covering their faces. I did manage to see a tattoo on one of their arms. It's the gang from the hospital.
I remembered the man I tripped over had a skull and cross bones on the side of his neck. This was the same tattoo I saw on the mans forearm. After a long drive, the van came to a stop and I was removed from the back. My hands were tied and I was being forced into a small, dark room.
When they removed the bag, I could tell it was some kind of basement. There were no windows and the walls were solid concrete. A very tall man came down the stairs and walked right to me. They no longer had masks, which in my opinion is where they are fucking up. If I make it out of this, I know who they are.
"Tell us about the man in the hospital. His name is Jax right? The old President for the Sons?" He leaned close to me. I leaned back and hit him in the nose with my forehead.
"Fuck you. You know nothing. I was helping the club with one of Chib's old friends. He's not Jax. That man is dead." The man was bleeding and bad. I think I broke his nose and he did not look very happy about that.
He slapped me so hard across my face that I saw stars. One of his men came up and stabbed a knife into my thigh. I went to scream but they covered my mouth. The knife didn't look very big but it hurt.
"Try anything again, and we'll start cutting parts off. That knife was small compared to what we have. The doctor told us it was Jax. He's alive and you lied. We don't like liars."
"The club doesn't like rivals. Looks like we're both in a rough spot. No don't cut me up, I look better whole." I smiled at them. He didn't seem very pleased with my comeback. I just hoped someone notices me missing because I do like myself whole.
"You're very brave. I like you. We know what they don't like because we are them. They don't scare us and neither do you." He had a wicked smile on their face. And it hit me. I've seen some of these men before. The wall. They had pictures on the wall.
"You are nomad. Some of you have pictures for time y'all served for the club. You were part of their family! How dare you." I can tell I hit a nerve because he turned around fast.
"When we went in, we didn't come out part of the Sons. We were beaten. We were left. Then when those three morons helped Clay in home invasions, we were completely cut off. No trust for anyone. Jax lead that table. We dropped out. We made our own way. We recruited more people and we've been silently growing for a while now." He was fuming. I don't know how Chibs didn't know any of them. They were all faces who were apart of us.
"How did Chibs not notice y'all at the hospital?" The fear started to creep in. Someone should have noticed.
"I was hurt and in a room. The only other man who they knew was with me. Everyone else was new recruits. Even the ones they killed. They had no clue who we were but they did know we were pissed." He was over me again. His nose was still bleeding and the other men looked pissed. I knew they wanted Jax and Chibs dead. There was too much there for them to be taking any high roads. They're gonna want them gone.
"You better hope they find you soon. Or there will be very little left to find. I hope Jax and Chibs like you enough to want to keep you around."
With that, they left the basement. One guy stood at the top of the stairs. I was left to think about how the hell anyone would know where I was and who I was with. I had to at least be one or two towns over. I was out of their district and out of SAMCRO's reach.
