After almost two months of working with the Sons, I finally got the okay to start on the plan to bring Jax home. The main idea was to get Jax out of that hospital with everyone still thinking he's dead. That's my job. Chibs called their doctor friend on helping fake some papers to show I was a new intern at the hospital and had a two year degree. Well I do but not in nursing. That next week I was standing outside the doors of St. Thomas Hospital.

I walk in to be met by one of our friends, Nayla. She's a nurse who used to know Tara. She's one of the main girls who have been watching over Jax. The other two are older ladies who used to be friends with Piney and Gemma. One is on vacation so I'll be taking her spot for the next two weeks and I'll be gone before anyone notices. The first day I mainly learn how to draw blood and take a readings off the monitors. I'd practice on some dummies and work my way up to a few patients in the E.R. Once I'm fairly confident in myself, I learn what medicines Jax is taking and how to give them to him.

Finally I can see him. We walk up to the top floor where they keep wealthy ICU patients and special needs patients. There are three other patients on the whole floor. Most of the floor was being used for storage. There is a family member of one of California's main democrats two rooms away from Jax.

I go into his room and just notice how week this bad biker looks. He's skinny and pale. He's breathing so lightly I scare myself thinking he's not actually breathing. Nayla closes the door behind me and locks it. I walk closer to him. His hair is buzzed and I can see a line in his hair where the scar on his head is. I walk around to look more at his head. The scar seems to go from almost the top of his head to close to the bottom. It's healing really well, or so I think.

"Now you'll have to learn how to change his dressings. Since he's mostly healed, we only do those once a day now or if he needs them more often." She walked away from the door and over to Jax. She lifted his shirt and I could see all his dressings. She lightly pulled the tape off and pulled away the gauze. He has a line down almost his whole abdomen. This too seemed to be healing nicely. She cleaned it a little and handed me the new dressings.

"You need to put the gauze on there just tight enough to keep anything out or in but not too tight or it'll cause issues with it healing fully. The same goes for the tape." I placed everything how she told me and she nodded signing to me I had done everything right.

" You must not tell anyone what you've seen. You can't tell them about Jax, which I'm sure the club has warned you about, but also the girl two rooms over. Her family would track you down if something happened to her." I just nodded wonder why she was that important. "Now you've gone through a whole shift and probably should get back. Please tell me you have an idea and your not gonna head right back to the club house?" I never thought about being followed.

"Yeah I'll run to my apartment and talk to my boss about taking off work then I'll come back. I need to get more clothes anyway." She nodded and I left. How are they ever gonna manage to get him out of here?

I got in my car and drove to my apartment. I packed two bags of clothes along with any other essentials and went to the local store to grab a few pairs of scrubs Nayla said were allowed to be worn in the hospital. I stopped by Rockers to talk to my boss about my situation.

Rose: "Hey Nick! Got a minute?"

Nick is an older man who is very sweet for the atmosphere of this bar. He looks like Santa running a hole in the wall of hell itself. It's a simple dive bar but we've sure had our fair share of crazies. I'd worked for Nick since I turned twenty one so he became like a work father to me.

Nick: "Anything for you."

"I have a family issue and I'm gonna need some time off. Not sure when I'll be back. I'll keep you updated on how everything is going but if you ever need help just give me a call and I'll come in." Nick just nodded and went back to waiting in the few locals we get in before the nightly crowds. Of course I'd lie about the updates but he didn't need to know that nor did he expect to receive any.

I loaded up in my car and made my way back to the clubhouse. I took a few trips around the block when I was worried a car was following me but turned a street or two over from the club. I made my way inside, unpack my things, and took a quick shower. I'm going to have to get used to the whole twelve on twelve off timeframe. If I wasn't at work, I'd have to occupy myself with work at the shop.
