Day 14, lies

"Nagisa, hey nagisa. Earth to nagisa. Nagisa!"

Huh, what? I look up to the front of the classroom to see korosensei staring at me.

"Now that i have your attention, can you answer this question?" he points at the board. "When water is combined with potassium, what happens to the potassium?"

(after class)

"Hey nagisa, what were you thinking about earlier?" sugino sits in the empty chair in front of me and puts his arms on my table to support his body weight. "You really seemed to be distracted."

"I wasn't really thinking about anything." I wave my hand somewhat dismissively at my statement.

Kayano, kanzaki, and karma come walking up to us.

"Not thinking about anything? How is that possible? Besides I know that look on your face, I know you were thinking about something." kayano says moving behind my chair giving the others a space to stand.

"Whatever it is." kanzaki speaks up. " you can always talk to one of us or the teachers. I hope i'm not being nosy, but I couldn't help but notice that you seemed troubled."

"No no. everythings okay. I just didn't get much sleep last night."

"Oh I see, what a relief." kanzaki holds her hands together over her chest relieved.

"Kanzaki. Are you ready to go?" okuda walks up to us.

"Yes, I'm ready now."

The two start walking away, but while doing so i overhear their conversation

"So is everything okay with nagisa then?"

"Seems to be, he just didn't get enough sleep is all."

"Oh that's not good, but at least he's not in a bad situation."

I can't help but to feel relieved, they bought my lie. I look up to the others hoping that they have also bought into it as well. Kayano gives me a big smile, there's a good chance that she believed me. Next i look at karma, his eyebrows are furrowed and he's looking down, that's not a good sign. The moment I look at Sugino he stands up.

"Well I got to get home. I've been struggling with what we've been working on in math so i want to study. See you later nagisa. And get some sleep tonight okay."

"Yea sure thing." I grab my bag and shove the rest of school supplies into it. "Well I better be going to. See yo kayano, karma."

"Yea see you later nagisa." Kayano speaks for the both of them.

I can't help but to catch karma's perplexed expression. Please dont look at me like that karma. I already feel guilty enough as it is to lie to you. It hurts to lie to my friends.

...

Finally, homework done. I backup all my school notes back into my backpack and stretch out my shoulders and back. I get up and look at myself in the mirror. I'm still in my school uniform and quite frankly it's starting to bother me. I make my way to the closet and grab out my largest hoodie. Taking off my clothes I throw them aside leaving me just in my underwear. I slip on the hoodie which covers up my underwear. Just as I finish pulling my arm through a buzz comes from my phone.

I pick it up and plop onto my bed. It's karma. I can feel the corners of my lips lifting, but they fall pretty quickly. I can't help but hate my life right now. I can't even do anything about it. If i do try anything then everything will just get worse. No one can know what's happening. This is my burden. I open up karma's message and my heart drops further.
