Still hung over by the time I forced myself out of bed, I shuffled my way to the kitchen. I ignored everyone there, all wrapped up in their conversations. I struggled to remember what happened last night.

"Did you and the soldier find each other last night? Kiss and make up?" Sam asked me, with a smile.

I kept my face emotionless. "He found me. There was no making up. And I am hung over as fuck."

He passed me a coffee cup and Advil. He smiled and rubbed my back as I groaned with my hands in my head. Suddenly my phone went off. I mumbled, "can you check that for me?"

"Y/N, why is someone asking if you have birthday plans tomorrow?" Sam questioned. That got everyone else's attention.

Suddenly I was surrounded by the group all asking about my birthday, doI want cake or a party? What presents can they buy? Can Thor bring his brother? Can Clint bring his family? I dropped my head to the table and regretted it. "Ow...."

Suddenly there was another voice, "What are we all talking about?" Bucky had joined us.

"Y/N's birthday is tomorrow. We're planning a party. Make sure you get her something nice to make up for being a dick, tin can."

Bucky focused his eyes on Tony and then to the rest of the group. "Looks like everyone's got it covered." He walked away to the outside balcony.

My eyes immediately looked for Steve, no one knew Bucky as well as he did. He nodded and went after him. I sighed and leaned against Sam. "We can have a party. And yes, everyone's invited. And I also expect cake. Anyone can buy me presents except-" I pointed at Tony "- there's a $50 limit. Nothing crazy!"

"They sell things for only $50?! What am I supposed to buy you? Ice cream?" Tony scoffed and I took the opportunity to fill my coffee cup and walk back to my room. The conversation continued without me.

*BUCKY'S POV*

After changing I laid in my bed for a long time just struggling to remember what happened last night. Memories came back in pieces. I remembered saying no during truth or dare. I remember Steve punching my leg and making me go after her. I remember my hands interlocking with hers on the bed as we talked. I remembered she leaned in first... pulling her onto my lap... kissing her neck and the sound she made...

I jumped up out of bed. Nope. Can't do that. Didn't happen. I shook my head to focus myself and decided to see if Steve wanted to go for a run. As I walked into the kitchen, everyone was all surrounding Y/N. Did she tell everyone? We said it never happened. I clenched my fists and opened my mouth, "What are we all talking about?"

Steve made eye contact with me but Tony was the one to answer. "Y/N's birthday is tomorrow. We're planning a party. Make sure you get her something nice to make up for being a dick, tin can."

I briefly looked at Tony before looking towards the rest of the group and grumbled, "Looks like everyone's got it covered." I turned and headed towards the balcony. Once outside I slid down to the floor along the wall and sat there. Shortly after, Steve joined me in silence.

After a few minutes he said, "I went looking for you last night. You weren't in your bed."

"Nope. I was in Y/N's."

"Buck, that's great! She could be really good for-"

I stood up abruptly, "Good for me? Steve I could have killed her! I was so drunk I don't even remember. It's a miracle I didn't crush her neck!"

"Oh come on Bucky, you have to think more clearly than that. Maybe you didn't hurt her because you won't hurt her. You were so wasted you don't even remember it! Even normal people tend to hurt people then and you didn't." He stood up and locked eyes with me, standing firm on his opinion.

I didn't look away and stood firm on mine. "I can't risk that. I can't gamble with her life. It won't happen again." I left the conversation at that by heading to the training area that we use the least. I needed to hit something.
