WHISKERS IN MY BED
Pilit akong nagmulat nang makarinig ng hagulgol. Bumungad sa'kin ang nanlulumong ekspresyon ni Daddy at humahagulgol sa tabi niyang si Mommy.
" M-mo...m-mmy...d-da....ddy... "
Mas lalong lumakas ang hagulgol ni mommy at napayakap kay daddy.
" I can't watch her like this anymore, Colt! I can't let my daughter die! Hindi ko kaya! "
My daddy embraced her and kissed her forehead before leaning in my bed and caressed my hand.
" I will not let that happen, Nadia. Panahon na siguro para magpatulong tayo sa kanila. "
Kahit anong pilit nilang magpakatatag, nakikita ko pa rin sa kanilang mata ang pagod, sakit at hirap.
I was just five years old when i started being bed ridden. My parents consulted different doctors to see my condition but to mo avail, they can't determine my case. My parents started losing hope but keep finding answers.
And now, at age of 17, i'm starting to lose hope as well. Tanggap ko nang hanggang dito na lang ang makakaya ko. I didn't even enjoy being free but that's alright. Being alive for 17 years is already a blessing. i just hope my mom and dad will let me go later on.
I lost consciousness.
But for a moment, i felt sudden changes in my body. I feel so strong, i think i can even run now. I tried opening my eyes and so i did.
The whole room was illuminated with a blue light, shimmering everywhere. An estranged old man was chanting beside me some unknown words while pressing his hands right above my body. His chants grew louder and the immerse energy in my body ignites my system.
The blue light blinded my eyes until i can no longer bear to see it. I closed my eyes and held my sheets tighter.
" HEAL THY VERSE!
BY THE POWER VESTED IN ME!
I COMMAND YOU!
HEAL THY LAD! "
The old man chanted loudly and i shrieked fervently when i felt my body floating. I was enclose in a circle-like ball and woosh!
I landed softly in my bed. The blue light disperse in the air and turn into golden dust. The door opened and brought my parents. They gasped when i tried standing.
" Mommy...daddy... "
Agad silang lumapit at niyakap ako. Ang higpit ng yakap ni mommy sa'kin. Pinaghahalik ako nito sa mukha habang niyayakap.
" Cornelia ko! Mommy's here! I love you! "
Daddy was about to hold me when i felt my body shortened and dispersed, shifted into something.
" Oh my god! "
" Meow. " wait, what?
