Asad
Asad talks on the phone with his friend that referred him to the therapist#
"I can't believe I'm going to tell someone about all that happened to me" Asad said
"You have to try, sometimes, we have to let our burdens go" kamal said
"Uhhgg! Alright, I'll call you after the session man, later!"
Walking inside the therapy room, i sat on a chair near a guy slightly older than me.
Knock! knock! someone knocked at the door"Come In. Please have a seat" said the therapist.
Raising my head, my eyes almost popped out. I had to pinch myself to make sure it wasn't a dream. She looked like the Disney princesses my sister always played on tv. Walking into the room was an Angelic beauty in a blue gown and a black veil.
"How did she manage to combine my two best colors" I thought to myself.
What might be the problem of such a good looking soul. From her looks, She should be in her late teens.
I could see depression and worries in her eyes.
"My name is Doctor Khabir and you're all welcome to this session. Be rest assured, whatever we discuss stays in these walls. Like the saying, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!" The therapist said.
My eyes were so fixed on her and couldn't take them off! At this rate she might notice me staring.
"Let's start with you Mr Asad Muhammad Baaso" The doctor said and brought me back to the room.
I looked at him and then the members. All eyes were on me and I noticed the girl smiling. Oouups! I think she noticed.
"Looks like you already found your cure before the session started" a woman said and they all laughed.
"It's not funny" I murmured
"Oh it is" the girl said.
"I'm Asad...." I said smiling.
"We all know your name already!". She said
It was another round of laughter.
"That's enough introduction Mahreen! Go easy no the newbie" the doc said.
"Alright, this therapy wasn't my choice, my friend suggested it. As you've all heard, I'm Asad Muhammad Baaso, a gold specialist...
"Not all that glitters is gold" Mahreen said
"But I'm sure you are even if you don't glitter" I replied
"Whoaaaaaa!!" The room was in awe.
"Asad, please!" The doc said
"Sorry doc. Well, we all have our reasons of being here. Mine is..."
What will they think? No! No!
The words became so heavy and I stood up to leave.
"Giving up already huh? Before you even start?" Mahreen said.
I turned around wondering "how old are you again?" I asked her
"Oh I might look older than my age but I'm just 20 and it's nice to meet you" she said
"Can't you just be quiet?" I asked
"I honestly can't. When I do, I hear voices" she said.
"Get to know me and the only voice you'll hear is mine" I said.
I thought what I said will make her smile but she got quite for real.
"Not again Asad! Don't!" Mr khabir reminded me."Okay, I'm not giving up. I don't give up! I just don't know what you guys will think after hearing my story". I said
"We are all here to listen, not judge. We all have flaws. We're not perfect, so please come and sit with us". An elderly woman said.
She was old enough to be my mother so I listened.
I walked back to my sit, pulled it but didn't sit.
"I was cheated on. I was betrayed. My wife was having an affair with my friend..." I paused for a moment and the room was dead silent.
A white handkerchief was passed to me from the girl, Mahreen I heard the doctor call her name. It was to wipe the tears in my eyes.
"It was an arranged marriage but I grew to love her. To cherish her, to put her first!
All I got later was tears and pains. When I think of it, all I do is cry. Then people say men don't cry! Truth is we do! Silently, without wailing. Our hearts break.
But after all, we're expected to be strong because we are men. We are expected to take in everything that comes our way, to not complain when things get hard but it's not possible. We need someone to talk to, someone to lean on, someone to hold our hands and tell us it's going to be alright". I said and sat down.
"You are a fighter. It might sound funny coming from a twenty year old, but believe me, not everyone can still move about doing their daily activities if something like that happened to them. You didn't lose, rather, they lost you and that led to you meeting people greater! You see the people in this room, you can exclude me though. They are wonderful. They are family and will always be there for you. I just want you to know that you're not alone". Mahreen saidOh wow! Where did she learn to talk like that?
I just stared at her and didn't say a word. She winked and smiled and I smiled too."What a speech Mahreen, you might as well represent me one day". Doc said and started clapping and the others joined too.
"Oh yeah!" They unanimously saidLet's hear from you Ma.
Mr khabir said to the woman beside me.
"Uhmmmm..." she started
"I lost my son, my only son. He was abducted on his way home from school. They wanted ransom and gave us an ultimatum. We were a day late because..." she started crying
"...because the money was much. Later in the day, we received a call from the police that they found his body and he's in a hospital. I couldn't believe it. The world is harsh! The world is sick! But what can we do when we're just humans too. I miss him so much".
When you think you are going through hell, some people will stay there forever.
I held her hand and said "Mother! I can't replace him, we all can't. But I can assure you, when those evil people took him from you, God have you children and I am one of them"
"I am too" Mahreen said
"So mother, wipe your tears, you already have two children here". I said and reached to my pocket for the wipe I was given earlier and she smiled.
"Thank you" she said.
"Can I have it back if you're done?" I asked jokingly
She laughed and gave it to me"Well well well! That's enough emotions for today. Until we meet next week" The therapist informed.
One by one, they all went out.
I bent closer to the Doc and said "it wasn't that bad, thank you Doc!""I'll see you next week Asad, it's nice to have you".
I literally ran out to catch up with Mahreen but she wasn't there! I turned a bit and checked the road side but I think she left.
"Lost something?" I heard her ask from behind.
"Uhmm... no! I was just... uhmm never mind" I said.
"Well then gold specialist, I'll see you next week" she said
"Wait! Which way are you going?" I asked and She pointed my opposite destination but I said I was going her same way. Finally dropped the first chapter
