I stood on the grassy cliff side, on blood stained grass, staring, as Starry fell from the tree. Had the black she cat pushed her? Or had she jumped? There was no time to figure that out, because a white she cat who I didn't roconize, slammed into my side, barrowling me over. At first, I didn't want to fight back. I had been hurt to bad any ways. But the urge to live made me toss the cat off. She laid there, sprawled on the grass, in shock, for a few heartbeats. Then, she stood up and lauched anougher attack on me, as if nothing had happened. I was surprised by her strength. I managed to land a few good blows before she leapt off me and raced away. For a second, I thought I had hurt he enough to scare her. But then, I saw one of tribe mates yowling for help as Wing battered at his belly. For a second, pure pride flooded through me for the kittypet. But it only lasted a heartbeat longer before I saw movement out of the edge of my vision. I turned just in time to see Shadow flying at me. Shadow? Why him?! I closed my eyes and ducked my head, wating to feel his claws slash through me. I wasn't going to fight him. Never. But the pain never came. I cautiously opened my eyes and saw that Shadow had dropped awkwardly back onto four paws. "I..I'm sorry, Raven." He dipped his head and raced off. I stared after him for a second, heart pounding from our encounter. He stopped. He does care. For a moment, I felt giddy relief flood over me. But then, I noticed Starry padding over, a shocked expression on her face. Oh no. She saw. I waited. I waited for her to ask if I had fallen for one of the Others. But before she reached me, Blossom ran over, and pointed with her tail where Crag was fighting two other toms. She spoke to Starry swiftly and then they raced off side by side. I was going to follow and help, if I could, but then Fox raced over, a black she cat at his paws. They leapt on me. For a second, I was shocked. Two against one? Thats not fair! No one ever promised you fair. A voice growled in my head. I shuddered. I managed to push the she cat off me, but Fox hung on, scratching viciously at my face. "I heard you started the battle. Now I will end it!" He whispered in my ear. Is he going to kill me? The thought bust into my mind before I could stop it. No. He couldn't. He wouldn't. But before he could do what ever he was going to do, Hawk raced up and pulled him off. "Really, Fox? Your going to kill a helpless cat?" Fox grinted his teeth. "No. I'm going to kill you!" With that, be leapt on Hawk and they disapeared into the fighting cats. I should help. The thought lingered at the back of my mind. No. I pushed it away. He was going to kill me. Hawks strong. He can win against Fox.
I tried to sneak out of the veiw of the others to clean my wounds, when a loud yowl made me freeze. Hawk. I shuffled through the battleing cats, mumbling, "Excuse me" and "Oh! Sorry, was that your tail?" Until I reached the place where i'd heard Hawk yowl. In front of me was Starry, holding onto Foxs tail, as if to pull him away. But in the middle was Hawk. Battered, he lay on his side, blood oozing around him. I gasped is he...? Suddenly the black she cat who had pushed Starry darted forward and grabbed Hawk in her jaws. He fought back feebily, but she was to strong. Starry was now no where to be seen. SHe must've ran to get help.
I should help. I tried to get my paws to move, but I couldn't. Suddenly, a cat padded up behind me. "Help him!" She hissed. It was Blossom. "I..I can't." Her eyes flashed. "Why?!" She demanded. " Just because you don't like him, doesn't mean you have to let him die like that!" I was surprised by the feirceness in her voice. But I couldn't help. I was afraid of making things worse. "Blossom.." "Fine! Don't help!" She cut me off aruptently barging past me and over to Hawk. All the cats had stopped fighting, and where watching Hawk and Starry. I ignored them. "Blossom, stop, you-" Before I could finish my sentence, three large tribe-gaurds blocked Blossoms path as she tried to help Hawk. "Hey!" SHe snapped at them. "Get out of my wa-" One of the toms, a brown tabby, shoved her aside, making her fall into Crag. "Are you alright?" Crag asked his sister, worry clouding his green-yellow eyes. "Yes." She grunted, glaring at me. "I'm fine." I opened my jaws to answer, but then relized that Blossom and Crag, and everything around me, was fading into blackness. I yowled in fear. Suddenly, a voice sounded behind me. "Like a fire, you will blaze through the forest, and anything in your way will be burned." I gasped, whipping around, expecting to see a cat standing behind me, but all I saw was darkness.
