I tossed and turned. I couldn't sleep. Not with my sisters betrayal clouding my mind. I had to warn the tribes. But neither would believe the pathetic little sister of the traitor. No, I needed a plan. And I good one. But how? I rolled over. I could never make up a plan that good alone! I rolled back. Suddenly, It came to me. I new just who to go to for help. But the problem was finding her....
"Swoop! Hey, Swoop?" The white she cat poked her head out our den. "Yes?" She responded. I padded over slowly. Was this really the best idea? "I need you to watch my kits for awhile." I told her bluntly. She flicked her ears in confusion. "Okay. Why?" I sighed. "I...Its hard to explain. It has to do with Raven." Her traitorous name stung my tounge. Swoop nodded knowingly. "Your going to look for her." She meowed. I bit my lip. "Uh, yeah.. Yes! Yes. I, um, am." I stuttered. "Thats nice. I know you must be worried." As if! "Its so sad she left. Or was taken. Or whatever." She left, and no, its not sad! I snarled in my head. "Well." Swoop rose to her feet. "Of course i'll watch your sweet kits. I hope you find...." I cut her off before she could say the name. "Yeah, thanks. Keep a close eye on Holly, okay? Shes still upset about... Her." Swoop nodded in confusion. I turned and hurried over to Stonetellers den to tell him about my leaving.
"Of course you may go, Starry. I'm sure you will find Raven." I squeezed my eyes closed. Even the wisest cat known to the tribes assumes i'm looking for Raven! "Thank you, Teller." I meowed, dipping my head. "I should leave right away." I informed him. He nodded. "Wait here." Stoneteller rushed off to the back. A few moments later, he emerged from the shadows of his den with Holly. They where both carrying herbs. "Traveling herbs." Holly explained, setting them down in front of me. I leaned down and licked them up, flinching at the bitter taste. "Thank you, dear." I purred, licking my sweet kits head. "I'll be back soon."
I found the rest of my kits playing with Dark and Sandy in the middle of camp. "Now, Midnight, do you remember your crouch?" Sandy quizzed my dark black kit. "Of course!" Midnight retorted, rolling her eyes at me. "Older To-Bes! They think they're so much better." Dark puffed out his chest. "We are!" He protested. I rolled my eyes. "Midnight, i'm going to look for Raven. I will be back in a few days time." A rock settled in my stomach as I lied to my kit. "Watch out for Holly and Thunder, okay?" "Why? I can watch out for myself!" "Yeah, mom! We're To-Bes!" "Plus i'm the oldest. I should look out for Midnight and Holly!" "Nuh-uh! Just because i'm blind, doesn't mean I can't look after myself! Plus, Midnights the oldest!" "Only by like, three minutes!" "Alright, you two." I purred to Thunder and Holly. "All of you look after one another. I love you. I'll be back soon." I turned and walked out of the camp. As I did, the argument resumed. I smiled inwardly. What amazing and perfect kits I have. But they're not really mine..... The thought disturbed me. Somewhere out there, a she cat left three beautiful kits in the woods to die. If I hadn't found them... I shook the thoughts from my head. They where mine now. And no bad mother is going to get in the way of that. The sun was shining bright, reflecting on the water and making it glisten. I smiled and closed my eyes. My paws sunk into the sand, leaving holes where my paws had stepped behind me. Few palm tree littered the beach, providing shade from the sun. The beach was rich with prey- Sea gulls cawed to each other in the air loudly, and lizards scampered under rocks by the cliff. On top of the cliff was the Nofur den where my Housefolk had lived. And Mitzis. Suddenly, I slammed into the cliff. Pain burned my eyes. Embarrassed, I quickly looked behind me to see if anyone had saw. And of course Cherry, Night, and Fox had to be standing right behind me.
