"Raven that Flies through Night!" Broke out in some what hesitant cheers. But they only sounded like the wind to me. All I could hear was my pounding heart. Me? He chose me? Why me?! What have I done to make Stoneteller think twice about choosing me?! I tried to move, to at least turn my head to ask Starry if this was real, but I could not. My eyes were glued to Stoneteller, who was smiling knowingly down at me. He did not give me any instructions. What do I do now? Starry nudged me as if on cue.  "Did you hear him? Come on, go over there! Every cats waiting!" Oh. Go on the Ceromony Rock? Like, right now? "Go!" She gave me anougher nudge.

I finnally made my legs stand up, and I slunk over to the pine. In my head, I was arguing with Stoneteller. I am not the perfect To-Be! You could of chosen anyone! I left my argument there, because I was talking to the Tribe leader, for Endless Huntings' sake! I climbed clumsily up the branches, remembering the time Shadow took me up here. I almost fell, unfocused. Shaking my head slightly, I practicaly raced up the rest pine, feeling every cats gaze boring into my side. I took my time padding over to Stoneteller, who had moved over to make room for me. His smile was reasuring, and I finnally lifted my eyes to the awaiting crowd. Crag was watching me, his eyes gleaming with aception. Beside him, Blossom scowled and turned the other way as I caught her gaze.

Swoop and Starry were grinning like maniacs, and I almost laughed out loud. But I did not, because Stoneteller was speaking again. "Raven that Flies through Night, I present you to the Tribe of Endless Hunting as my new To-Be! May you learn well, and lead our tribe greatly one day." His sentence was met with cheers as my tribe mates yowled my name. "Raven! Raven! Raven!" For a moment, I felt a flash of pride. But it was quickly replaced by worry. Every thing still felt like a dream- Would I be able to handle orginzing patrol tomarrow, and every day after that? I shook my head to clear my sickening thoughts. I did not need to worry about that. Not here. Not now. Once the cheering died away, I was happy to scramble down the pines swirling trunk. I was hoping for some peace to think things over, but I was immidiatly attacked by a group of cats.

"Oh. My. Gosh!" Sandy was whispering to Dark. "To think, this ole' Loner is now our leader-to-be!" Dark nodded in excitment, but got a glare form Petal. "Show some respect!" She snapped, rolling her eyes at me. I laughed. At last, the crowd thinned, and Swoop and Starry approached."Raven... I cannot believe it!" Swoop squealed. "I am soo proud of you!" Starry stepped forward to give my ear a lick. "Me too!" She agreed. "And to think, you thought you could not do it!" I was grinning now. "So, i'm the new To-be..." I mewed, still feeling a little shocked. "Raven!" I was surprised to see Crag approaching behind Swoop, his eyes gleaming. "You are going to be a great To-Be." He promised. I just grinned. No need for words. "More like a cursed To-Be." I was shocked by the words that had just came out Blossom mouth. Cursed? It could not be! "How dare you!" Starry, my own little sister, was snarling at Blossom, who stood facing her, nose to nose, unlbinking. "It is true." The she cat replied, her gaze sliding onto me. "Her Ceromony was late- She can not be proper to lead my tribe!" With that, she stalked off. Crag looked just as shocked as I was. "She.. She does not mean that..." Crag whispered, looking both sad and mad. I shrugged, trying to hide my hurt. "Thats fine. I mean, I don't care. Lets just go back to camp. " Without waiting for a response, I juping into the fern tunnel. I could hear Swoop and Crag stumbling behind me. Crag kept on tripping into Swoop, who would trip into me.

I burst through the camp entrance, glade to be away from the shoving. "Heey!" Swoop was calling mev over. "Every bodys feasting! Come on, get some prey!" She tossed a few mice at me, and grabbed a robin for herself. My mouth started to water by seeing the prey. I had not realized how hungry I was. "Thanks!" I exclaimed, grabbing the prey by their tails and padding over to our den, were I sat down beside the entrance. I was finishing off my first mouse when Swoop finnally padded over, laughing at something Crag, who was padding next to her, said. "I cannot believe this!" Swoop giggled. "By best friend, a future leader!" The words best friend' caught me- Did she really think of me that way? "What do you think you'll do, now that your Stonetellers To-Be?" Crag asked. His quistion caught me off gaurd. "I..Uh.." I suttered. Swoop jumped in. "Oh, I bet she'll have lots of secret meetings with Stoneteller, and not tell us what its about!" She gave me a fake pouty face.
