Sunlight filtered through the nursery as I walked in with Stoneteller to check on the queens. "How are they?" I asked anxiously. The Healer straightened. He had been bent over, examining the she cats and mumbling to himself for what felt like forever. "They're fine, Starry." He mewed, sounding relieved. In the past, we had some troubles with our kits. Luckily not this time. I thought happily. "How much longer?" Swoop groaned, shifting her weight to her side. I sighed inwardly. Swoop had been ill-tempered ever since Stoneteller said he was here to make sure everything was running smoothly. "We don't know, Swoop." Stoneteller soothed. The she cat snorted. "Oh, dear." Echo said worridly. She, too, could feel the tension building up in the den. I backed away before Swoop could make another snide comment. "Uh..I-I'm going to go over." I stuttered. No one noticed.

I slipped silently out into the clearing. Instead of seeing if Raven had anything for me to do, I padded out of camp for some fresh air. As soon as I escaped the towering walls of camp, I felt alive again. Seagulls where calling to each other overhead, waves crashed on the shore..

I "Of course not!" I pricked my ears. Who is that?! The wind shifted and I caught two sents- One Ravens, and the other...Shadows. I almost gasped out loud. Why would my sister, my loyal sister, be talking to Shadow? I crept silently forward till I had a perfect view of them, hidding myself in the shadows of Ceremony Rock. Shadow is explaining something. I figured. "...Don't want anyone to figure..Ah.. This out. Okay, Raven?" I gulped. "Of course." Raven breathed. I groaned silently. Whatever he wanted Raven to agree on, it must not be good. Suddenly, a prickle of unease raced through me. What if.. They joined together and are planning something to get revenge on the tribes?! My thoughts raced wildly. They could be making up a huge attack, forming an army out of house-pets and Outsiders to attack the tribes! I tried to calm myself. Maybe I am just being paranoid. I thought, trying to sooth myself. But I could not help but promise to keep a closer eye on Raven..

"What're you doing?" Raven jumped. "Starry, you scared me!" She exclaimed. We were back in camp. I had followed Raven secretly back to camp, watching her every move. The only suspicious thing she did was go through the dirt place tunnel instead of the entrance. Raven turned back to the nursery nest. "Just changing the bedding." Swoop and Echo had been sent outside by their mates to get some fresh air. While they were out, Raven had offered to clear out the old, stinky bedding and replace it with new bedding. But I know what your really doing, Raven! I snarled silently. It all made perfect since. Raven was going to start the attack off by placing something poisoned plant into the queens nest and blame it on... Someone in our tribe. Not while i'm here! "Come over here!" I urged her. "I must show you.. uhh.. This thing! Over there. In Stonetellers den!" Raven looked confused. "Oh.. Okay." She finnaly agreed. I practically dragged her out of the nursery and across the clearing. We where almost to Stonetellers den a horrified yowl made us freeze. Stripes came racing through the entrance, out of breath. "Swoop!" He gasped. I immidiatly glared at Raven. What she, or Shadow, done to poor Swoop?! "She... Swoop... Is giving birth...On NoFur bridge... Dolphins!" A horrified gasp rippled through the tribe cats. Raven sprang into action. "I want Starry, Crag, Fang, Healer, and Wolf out there now! Stripes, lead them!" She barked orders briskly over the panic, and raced out of camp herself one everyone else had left.

Paws pounded against the shore, following Stripes. The bridge loomed in front of us, and it was worse than I had thought. Echo was batting helplessly at the finned creatures as Swoop lay behind her, each dolphin getting closer and closer to grabbing her tail and dragging her in. I heard Ravens orders echo softly, sounding far away. But all I could think about was the story of my birth, that Mouse Ear told us thousands of times because it was so exciting.
