Chapter 6

*Kurai's POV*

We jumped through the trees toward Konoha. I was right behind Kakashi with Guy next to me annoying me with his constant stream of questions and yelling 'YOUTH'. I got so fed up I kicked in the groin and punched his stomach making him fly back and into another tree then fall to the floor with a thump. He was out cold while I was fuming red. I turned to Kakashi who looked very confused. I bowed, "I'm sorry I had to do that to make him shut up he was driving me insane."

I heard his chuckle before he sighed and leaned up against the tree. I walked over to the unconscious Guy and leaned him against the tree tending his wounds. Taking off my cloak and shoes my red hair tumbled out. I wore time I pulled out a medical kit I made from some supplies the villagers gave me nearby. I dressed his wounds applying salves and an stitching some wounds he had reopened but came upon one wound which I had to do medical Jutsu for. "Where'd you learn to do medic jutsu from?" I heard Kakashi ask. "I had met the old granny or as you know Tsunade in the hospital when I went to get some supplies but ended up helping her with a surgery when I showed her my basic knowledge from surging here in the forest. In the end she decided to train me for about a year."

I finished up all his wounds from before and now then laid him down comfortably and turned back to Kakashi who was reading his evil orange book. I swear dropped and stated, "you know that's porn?"

He looked surprised and questioned, "how do you that?" He was holding the book very close now. I chuckled and answered, "well the title and author gave it away and I just have my reasons. Plus I have met the stupid Pervy Sage when I went to a hot springs. Knocked him out real bad. Then trained with him for a bit before he left two days later."

I sweated dropped at him when I noticed Kakashi staring at me, his eyes twinkling with admiration when I noted I had met his idol. I chuckled standing up and brushing dirt off my cloak and brushing my red hair out of the way before turning to him. I looked up at the sky to see it near sunset. "How about you set up camp here and the fire and I get us something to eat."

He nodded and started collecting twigs for a fire. I got up and walked to a nearby stream. Hitori at my side. We caught some fish and a rabbit.

When I arrived back at camp u found one tent up and Kakashi sitting by the fire reading his perverted book. I cooked our meal and made a broth we ate in silence by it was a comfortable silence.

After dinner I cleaned up our extras said goodnight to Kakashi who had gone to the tent and walked over to a curled up Hitori.

He raised his head and let me lay down in his soft fur licking my face with his warm tongue. I got cozy in his fur listening to the soft crackling of the fire and soft chirps of the crickets falling into what I thought would be a peaceful sleep.

*Kurai's POV/3rd person*
-dream/memory-

A little girl around the at if four sat in a box, shivering all she had to where was some big shorts, a big t-shirt, some socks and a blacker but all were old and worn barely keeping her warm. It was the middle of winter and snow flakes were decorating her hair.

The little girls head snapped up as she heard a pair of feet coming toward her. In front of her stood a middle aged man. He was staggering around showing the sign he was drunk.

The little girl shaking even more in fear of what he will do. "Hey little girl" the man slurred. "You cold?"

The little girl nodded up at the man. His grin widened at her site. Her perfect little body barely clothed he was turned on. "How about I make you warm then!" He lunged at her pinning her underneath him. His hands. Started roaming up and down her body, touching her where she didn't like. She kept squirming and screaming for help but it was no use.

She had almost given up when a yell was heard and the man was pushed off her. She just payed there in a daze hearing the sound of skin being punched and kicked before a hand was held in front of her. She whimpered and shy away from it. But the hand gently picked her up and wrapped her in the blanket before carrying her to some other place. She fell asleep feeling safe in these arms.

When the little girl awoke she looked around seeing as she was in a bed. When she tried to move she whimpered in pain. Everything hurt.

The door creaked open across the room and a boy with ash colored hair the age of sixteen entered the room. His electric blue eyes landed on her and he rushed to her to calm her down.

He gently sat her up smiling then said, "hi my name is Ren what's yours?"

The girl gave a tiny smile before responding in a whisper, "my names Kurai."

The memory changed to about a year later. Kurai sat in a room surrounded by a family of three that came to be her family. She was playing with a doll when the door to the room was knocked down. The family jumped up in surprise. The father of the family told Ren to take Kurai up stairs. Ren only nodded before scooping up the confused Kurai and ran upstairs.

Just as the got into Ren's bedroom a gunshot was heard downstairs followed by a woman's scream. Another gunshot was heard before all went quiet. Ren went to the closet and opened up a box he put Kurai inside and said, "we are going to play a game of hide and seek ok Kurai. You hide in here while I hide somewhere else. But we mustn't be found by the seekers who are coming now so stay quiet." He covered Kurai with a bunch of clothes before closing the lid and running off.

Kurai sat in silence until another gunshot was heard and running came back toward the room. Kurai kept quiet.

A man stumbled into the room as far as Kurai could tell, then the top of her box opened and Ren reached into the box. He pulled her out and sat her on the floor. As he opened his mouth to say something another gunshot was heard and Ren screamed out in pain.

Kurai stared at him frightened out of her wits. She shook Ren with all her might trying to get him to stir. She turned only to see the flutter of a black figure. She was about to get when she felt a pull at her shirt. Ren brought her closer and put something in her hand and whispered in her ear, 'don't look for revenge, it's never the answer. It is also selfish matters buoy will grow and find new people to love who also love you. Never give up. Just remember we love you.'

Then he went limp and fell back to the ground. When he ht the ground blood splatter all over her. She screamed and fell to the floor unconscious clutching a black pear crystal silver necklace.

Kurai woke up with a jump sweating like a pig. Hitori also woke sensing Kurai's distress. She snapped her head around looking for an enemy. Hitori nudged her whining as if in pain. She looked at him seeing he was worried so she closed her eyes and calmed her breathing. She opened her eyes and smiles at Hitori, he grinned back at her whined happily as she kissed his wet nose and curled back up in his fur falling back to sleep.
