*Kurai's POV*

We finally entered the gates of Konahagakure. I was allowed into the village with Kakashi and Guy after they told them I was trust worthy and that Hitori could come in but he had to have a leash on him for now which he dreaded it reminded him of his days in that reached lab. But I calmed him down and continued walking through the town. We passed a bunch of stalls filled with delicious smelling sweets and food. I stared at everything with pure interest and excitement. It was amazing to see all of this in real life and not in the anime.

We finally ended up at the red building containing the Old Man. We walked up the long stair way band Kakashi knocked on the door. I heard a gruff 'enter' and we entered his office. The Hokage sat there looking down at his paperwork before looking up and smiling at the two and sending a confused glance at me. "I see you brought a visitor. May I ask who this young lady is and why she is here?"

Kakashi bowed and answered, "this is Kurai. She saved us on our way back from the mission. We were ambushed and almost lost but she came out of nowhere and saved us." He motioned for me to step forward so I did and bowed.

"Lord Hokage it's nice to finally meet you. I am Kurai as you have been told and this is my partner Hitori."

He looked from me to Hitori and grinned, "I wish to thank you but want to also know why you have come here?"

"I have lived in the forest at the edge of the Konaha and now wish to have refuge in your village at least for some time being. I have great knowledge that might help and have something important to say. It will be of your great interest and if you do not believe you may look through my memories if needed but you want to have your most trusted shinobi here."

I heard him chuckle and agreed. I looked up to seeing a gentle smile on the Hokage. I smiled back and hugged him. He jumped in surprise but I didn't care, after a few moments he hugged back. The shinobi (Anko, Ibiki, Tenzo, Genma, Kurenai, Asuma, Kakashi and Guy) all proofed into the room and bowed to the Hokage. The Hokage nodded his head toward them before pulling back and looking down at my hiccuping and shaking self. He gently took my chin and turned my face toward his. His face held yet another soft and gentle smile making me smile back tears still running down my face. He brought his long old fingers to my face brushing away my tears. "Now will you tell me what you hav.....why you are crying?" He asked.

My face saddened a bit before I smiled with a red and squeaked in embarrassment, "you seem like what a grandfather or at least a father would be like and I have never met mine. I kinda had a family for a short time before they uh, died."

His smile falter and his eyes filled with pity. "Then who have you lived with you couldn't have lived in the forest for your whole life?"

I looked out the window seeing the Hokage mountain and the lush forest behind it, swaying in the breeze, then back up at him, "no but where I did live will be difficult to apprehend."

"Try me!" He said with a smirk.

I thought for a moment, 'what if he doesn't believe me and leaves me here? What if he thinks he thinks me of a freak? What if he...'

My ranting was cut off by a chuckle from Yami, "it's ok young one he is trustable you may tell him. He wouldn't would have found out if you were going to tell the Hokage anyway."
