The morning after I had returned to the villiage I met up with Rimuru for a walk around the villiage to help him do his job of making sure things were going smoothly. But just as I had originally thought, Rimuru didn't really do much in the overall scheme of things.
As we went around supervising things I sat atop Ranga, holding onto Rimuru infront of me. I was back in my smaller form so a fit comfortably on-top Ranga's back.
We stoped for a brief moment to watch Gobta teach some of the other goblins how to summon their wolves from their shadows. I had given Rimuru a good lashing after learning he had forgotten Gobta in the Dwarven prison.
Watching the goblins I let out a laugh as Gobta tried to show them how he did it, but ended up just looking like he took a dump.
"Its nice to see everyone so happy." I said it loud to nobody in particular.
"Yep, yep." Rimuru nodded, agreeing with me.
Just then I caught site of Rigurd running fast towards us. I frowned when I noticed he looked worried. Also, I hadent noticed this last night, but I think he's a bit buffer now than before I had left.
"Is something up?" Rimuru asked when he reached us.
"Yes, sir!" He announced loudly like this was some kinda military camp. "We recieved a message from the security team. It seems they've discovered suspicious beings in the forest."
"Suspicious beings?" I wondered what was classified as supisious beings to a monster.
"Monsters?" Rimuru asked having the same idea as me.
Rigurd shook his head. "No, humans."
"Huh?" So humans are supisious being to goblins.
"Humans!" Rimuru exclaimed.
I heard a bit of excitement on his voice. I couldn't blame him though, we haven't seen other humans since coming to this world. I was also intrigued at the news.
"They may be scouts from some nation hoping to expand its domain." Rigurd told us in explanation.
Rimuru hummed turning to me. "What do you think Ananta?"
I put my hand on my chin thinking. "I think we should scout them out first. If there from another nation they may have strong people prepared to fight off monsters. Have the security team watch them from a safe distance for now. We'll go and see what's up."
"Understood, Great Ananta." Rigurd confirmed with a salute, rushing off to carry out the orders.
"Ranga take us to where the humans are located." The wolf turned taking off Into the forest at top speed, my hair flying across my face from the wind.
"You really took command of things there Ananta." Rimuru commented Infront of me.
Oh crap, I covered my mouth apologetically. "Sorry about that, I didn't mean to undermine you."
"It's all good." Rimuru reassured me. "It was reasuring to see you take action like that. Takes a load off me."
I smiled. "I'm sorry that I just took off like that leaving you with everything. But I promise that from now on I'll be right by your side to help."
"Glad to hear it!" He exclaimed happily but was suddenly interrupted by a loud crash up ahead accompanied by screams. In a moment I was off Ranga's back spreading my wings.
"I'm gonna scout ahead!" I called out getting a thumbs up from Rimuru before taking off.
From the air I saw four, who I assumed were the humans Rigurd told us about, being chased by giant ants. Those poor guys, I had once seen a close up of ants as a kid and was afraid of them for a year. A bit furthar in the distance a larger group of ants followed behind.
