You sighed, walking onto the stage, throwing your guitar over your shoulders. Your eyes were red from crying earlier but, you needed something to get your mind off of things so you took a small gig for a bar. You did a quick sound check, your guitar sounding good. You took a breath, your fingers beginning to strum across the strings, fingers on the assigned frets. You closed your eyes.

Drunk drive to my apartment
Let's pick up where we started
Let's leave off where we left it
Meet me at the apartment

You shut your eyes tighter, remembering the good times you two had months ago. He twirled you around, staring into your eyes with pure joy, like you were the only thing that mattered to him.

Let's break up, make out, make up
Just pretend we're fine
'Cause I know you miss me
And I'm always on your mind, mind

Your voice cracked a bit as you remembered the night you could tell something was wrong. He acted differently towards you, not being around that much anymore.

But if you want me, why can't we still be together?
You've got problems, but I promise they'll get better
We both know that I can't wait on you forever
I still wonder if we're meant to be together

You sighed. A small flashback of when he told you music was getting more important and that it wasn't gonna work out. You gulped slightly, swallowing that urge to breakout in tears.

Meet me at Union Station
Let's play guitar in your basement
Let's get Ramen Takeya
Let's talk about our problems

A small smile appeared on your face as you recalled that one time you and him ate out at a small ramen shop and went home, talking about random things and practicing some music.

Let's break up, make out, make up
Just pretend we're fine
'Cause I know you miss me
And I'm always on your mind, mind

You repeated that same line, your voice becoming shaky when you remembered the fight you had not too many nights ago. You remembered the anger in his voice and how you had never wanted to slap someone so badly. Your strumming slightly intensified as you got more into the song.

But if you want me, why can't we still be together?
You've got problems, but I promise they'll get better
We both know that I can't wait on you forever
I still wonder if we're meant to be together

You took a breath, swallowing your urge to cry, finishing up the song. You strummed a bit hard again.

If you want me, why can't we be
Together, together?
If you want me, why can't we be
Together, together?
If you want me, why can't we be
Together, together?
If you want me, why can't we be
Together, together?

Finally, you finished off the last notes, taking a breath, and looking at your feet as you waited for the crowd to respond. Not even a second later, the audience cheered, clapping and whooping. You gave a weak smiles, giving a small thank you. You turned, unplugging your guitar and walking off the stage. You placed down your guitar, turning. Your eyes widened, beginning to shed a few tears as you looked up to see him.

He was holding bouquet of flowers, your favorite type. He stared into your glossy E/C eyes, sympathy and regret in his. He placed down the flowers on a nearby desk and went up to you, embracing you in a loving hug. You immediately hugged back, crying into his shoulder a bit more. He sighed, rubbing your back. He closed his eyes, hugging you a bit tighter, "Y/N, I'm so sorrey, my luv. I-I din't mean fo yew to get so hurt, a-and I shoulda not left ya. I'm very, very sorrey, my darling." You shook your head, obviously accepting the apology. He pulled away, pushing his lips to yours in a caring manner. You returned the kiss, having missing it so badly.

Once he pulled away, he smiled, wiping some of your tears. "Your song wus beau'iful, luv, by da way." You chuckled, "Thank you, D." He embraced you in another hug. As the night went on, you caught up on y'all we're doing and how you two had missed each other so badly. It felt good to finally talk about your problems to the love of your life.
