I find myself on this abysmal app again, but I've actually got some good news to put in here. After looking through some old stuff, I can definitely say there's been a LOT of improvement. I don't feel like shit (as often 💀) Marimba player Art is kicking ass on the line. I've apparently been doing better than my percussion captain's first year on Marimba was. (He said so, but I ain't believe it.) Surprisingly, the seniors have had a lot of patience with me when I get stuck on the music. I honestly thought they'd start berating me for not having the sections hammered out by the day we play them because that's what literally would happen freshman and sophomore year. Instead I'd get a hand on my should accompanied by a genuine, "It's okay, bro. Don't stress out." I even asked why I wouldn't get yelled at and Ari and Jose would just tell me that my progress rate was natural. As of now, I just need one more letter to learn and then go back to make sure I line up with the marimba line.
My art has also gotten better! I've drawn more stuff on the digital side, and I've been trying to grow a portfolio so people can see I have a wide range of art skills so more (or any, really) commissioners come in. Currently, I'm still on superhero stuff, but I try to add more detail or change up the style with each project to show range even there. I'm gonna attempt doing a video game boss fight concept art for the next project, but I also have other ideas floating around that I might do first instead.
MY GRADES. God damn, my grades have actually been way better as compared to sophomore year. I'm passing with high 90s and even some 100s. I just took my SAT, and I'm surprised that I didn't find it difficult. Hopefully I get like an 1100 or higher.
And that's really it for now. (OH, I'M 20LBS LIGHTER TOO! Since August, I've lost 20lbs. It's not much in terms of timespan, but it's the most I've been able to lose at one point, so I'm proud.)
Okay, now I think I'm done. I'm happy that I've been able to see some positive improvement comparing the old stuff I've put up here. Let's hope I keep it going! 😎
