Chapter 8

STEVE'S POV:

When Dar walked in, everyone went silent, including me. And that shows that if I'm quiet, it ain't good. Darry asked again, "Do I have to repeat myself?! What's this talk 'bout 'another rumble'?".
Gabby got up and said, "I saw Harry cheating on me with another socs. I walked into class and saw them makin' out. I ran home, and cried for a bit. I heard the front door open and it was Dally. He talked with me and held me in his arms for a while, I fell asleep. Next thing I knew,  I woke up and Soda was sitting next to me. Soda and I cried together", as she said that part, all the guys looked at Soda. Gabby continued talking, "then me and Soda came to the living room to watch Mickey, and everyone came home..".

Gabby told Darry her story quickly. I could tell she was scared. "THAT JERK ASS SOCS HARRY CHEATED ON YOU WITH A TRAMP?!", Darry screamed at the top of his lungs. Gabby looked scared. She hated it when people yelled at her. "I-I mean. Yea he did. Can you please not scream Dar-", Darry interrupted Gabby. "GABRIELLA VICTORIA CURTIS OF COURSE IM GONNA SHOUT! YOU GOT CHEATED ON BY A SOCS! NOW I TOLD YOU FROM THE BEGINNING DATING A SOCS WAS A BAD IDEA! AND YOU DIDN'T LISTEN!", Darry screamed and screamed. He wouldn't stop screaming.

Gabby and Soda were looking at each other. I don't know much, but what I do know is Gabby's about to start cryin' again.

GABBY'S POV:

Darry knows I hate it when he shouts. My heart started beating fast. I looked over at Soda and he gave me a sympathetic look. "Darry I'm sorry.. it isn't my fault I was cheated on.."

"GABRIELLA IT WAS YOUR FAULT! WE ALL TOLD YOU THAT IT WAS A BAD IDEA TO DATE A SOCS FROM THE BEGINNING!! BUT YOU DIDN'T LISTEN TO ANY OF US! YOU KNOW WHY YOU DIDN'T LISTEN?! BECAUSE YOUR A DUMB CLUELESS TEENAGE GIRL!! ALL OF US TOLD YOU NOT TO DATE HARRY, AND YOU WERE WRONG ONCE AGAIN GABRIELLA!!", I just wanted Darry to stop yelling. When people yell at me, I get scared. It's one of my least favorite things. When I get scared, I cry, and I'd cried enough today.

By now, Soda, Pony, Two-bit, Dally, Steve, and Johnny were all staring at me in silence. Darry looked like his head 'ought explode. I got up and screamed "IM SORRY DARRY! I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU WANT ME TO SAY!". I pushed him out of the way, ran out the front door, and dashed at full speed down the road.

I looked back and saw Soda Pony Johnny and Dally chasing after me. I thought 'oh crap. Why can't they just give me some space for once..'

SODAPOPS POV:

As Gabby ran out the front door Two-bit said to Darry "what the hell man?! She got cheated on! She's hurt! She's a teenage girl so of course she ain't gonna listen when you told her not to date him! But yellin' at her and calling' her stupid and clueless ain't gonna help her being upset! All ya did was make her feel worse!" Darry looked upset. I could tell he felt bad.

Dally got up and said "Johnny, Pony, Soda. Follow me. Right now. Let's go". Us four ran out the door at full speed, down the road. Gabby wasn't too far ahead. She wasn't very athletic so she hadn't made it far down the road yet. We were shouting her name "Gabby! Gabby! Gabby come here please we just wanna talk to you!".  I'm sure that Gabby wanted to be alone, but she wasn't allowed to carry a blade. Darry wouldn't let her. So we had to go with her cause she's not supposed to walk alone. She could get jumped by a socs.

We finally caught up to her and Pony ran at full speed and tackled her into the grass. "Pony get off of me!", she said as she pushed him off. She hugged her knees and burried her face into them.

I ran over to her and put my hand on her shoulder. "Hey. Gabby look at me.", I lifted her chin and her eyes were red and puffy like they were before. I couldn't stand it. When she cries, it makes me cry. And I hate crying in front of the guys, but I couldn't hold it in. I started to cry. But I didn't care anymore. I put my arm around her and she put her head on my shoulder. Pony walked over and hugged Gabby. She wrapped her arms around him and said, "I'm sorry I pushed you Pony. You know I love you", as Gabby said that, Johnny and Dal came over. I wiped my eyes quickly so they didn't see I was cryin'. Dallas knelt in front of her, trying to calm her down, and Johnny stood behind Gabby petting her hair.

"I hate it when Darry yells. It isn't my fault Harry cheated on me!", Gabby said. I could tell she was embarrassed. Gabbys like me. She hates cryin' in front of people.  Dally said, "you've gotta ignore him, and he's gotta lay off".  Dally pulled me, him, Pony, Johnny, and Gabby into a hug.

Gabby eventually calmed down so we all walked back to the house. When we got to the front door Pony asked Gabby, "ya ready?". Gabby took a deep breath and put her hand on the door knob to open the door.
