Christopher's POV

"Sup Chris!" I hear as soon as I enter the school. I looked around to see Trey walking towards me.

Trey and I have known each other since the sixth grade, where we shared math class. We originally made a deal that he would protect me from bullies if I helped with his homework and gave him answers during tests. A symbiotic relationship. Eventually, however, we formed a genuine connection through our mutual liking of anime, cartoons, games, and music. And we've been very good friends since.

"Oh hey T!" I said, smiling brightly.

"How was summer bro bro?" He asked curiously.

"Pretty cool!! My family went to Taiwan to visit some relatives so I pretty much had to house to myself all summer" I said, laughing nervously.

"Damn and you ain't invite me over?!" He joked as he quickly approached.

"Sorryyy, my parents said no guests over while they were gone and I didn't wanna get in trouble..." I said shyly, looking down at my feet.

"Aye that's okay lil bro, as long as you were safe and had fun, that's all that matters for real." He smiled, looking down at me.

"Thank you!! It was! I hope your summer was fun too T!!" I said smiling at him brightly.

"It was aight, I just wish me and my bro hung out more, but he never be answering his phone" He sighed and rolls his eyes.

"Your bro? I didn't know you had an older brother" I say with a hint of curiosity.

"Oh no, he's not actually my brother, he's my best friend." He chuckled. We've known each other since we were little kids so we're practically like brothers I guess. I would do anything for him.

"Aww, that's so sweet of you, I wish I had a brother to share that kind of connection with." I said slightly pouting.

"I mean you could hang wit me and bro sometime, I think he would be cool with you lowkey. He's a pretty chill dude most of the time." Trey shrugged.

My eyes lit up. "Really?! I mean I don't know... I wouldn't wanna impede on you guys' friendship. I'd feel guilty" I mumbled.

"Nah bruh, you're good, he's a really chill and laid-back dude I promise." He wrapped his arm around my shoulder as we began walking to our lockers. "I could maybe even introduce you two after school today if you're cool with that." He stated excitedly.

I thought for a moment. Even though I'm timid around most people, I'm fairly popular around school. I've been compared to supermodels, and multiple girls have had crushes on me. The only problem is that I'm openly gay. Everyone knows this, and it's been the source of intense bullying since middle school. I never really had many genuine friends during that period of my life because they were always either sexually attracted to me or secretly hated me and caused drama... Trey, however, always had my back no matter what, and never once cared that I was gay. He actually cared about me. He respected me. He really saw me as a person. I trust him. He's my best friend.

"Sure" I said decidedly. I'll meet you guys out in the parking after school? I asked.

"For sure lil bro, I think you two will really like each other!!" He stated enthusiastically.

"Y'all have a lot in common actually." He smiled at me before looking down at his phone to text someone.

"I'll see you after class brodie, or if we have a period together or the same lunchtime then I'll see you there!! Aight, I gotta go, bell's about to ring!!" He dapped me up and promptly ran down the hallway, immediately being told by a teacher to slow down. I laughed, gathered my supplies, and headed for first period.
