CJ's POV

It felt kind of surreal. This is exactly how we met, except this time was different, I felt no ill will toward him. He looked slightly different. A little skinnier from what I remember, and he had dark bags under his eyes. It looked like he hadn't slept well in days. I wonder why. The more I looked at him, the more worried I became. His nose had a faded purple-greenish hue to it and he was wearing a baggy sweater. It was like 80 degrees outside, why would he wear something like that? I have so many questions.

"Shit my fault I didn't see you there, let me help you up. You got your books everywhere too let me help you get those up." I began to pick his books up before he suddenly scrambled up and snatched his possessions away.

"I'm fine thanks!" He said before quickly walking away. I noticed that he left a notebook on the floor.

"Hey wait! You left something!" I tried to get his attention but he had already disappeared into the crowd at that point.

"Ah shit, guess I'll put it in lost in found or something... Or better yet, I'll just tell Dee to give it to Trey so he can get it back that way. Fucking complicated ass system." I sighed and made my way to class. Somehow, Demetrius how already beaten me there and was reviewing notes from the previous day.

"Still mad at me from the conversation we had earlier?" I asked, setting my stuff down and settling in.

"I wouldn't say mad, just a little disappointed. All I want is for you to make things right with them. I don't really enjoy having a broken friend group." He flipped a page and wrote something intelligible down on a Post-it note.

"I already made plans for that- well at least with Chris. We're supposed to meet up this saturday." I confidently stated.

"Oh really? And does Chris know about those plans?"

"Of course, why wouldn't he? It's not like it's a surprise date or something, it's just so I can apologize to him."

"Mhm, well that's a good first step. There's no telling whether or not he'll forgive though. Does Ben know about this little meetup?" He continued to flip the pages and write.

"No? Why would he?" I asked, a little confused by the question.

He stopped and glared at me, "Are you serious?" He shook his head, "You just... what am I gonna do with you CJ?"

"What? What's the problem? I'm doing everything I should be doing right? This isn't any of Ben's business anyway. In fact, it would be best if wasn't brought into this giant mess."

"Let me get this straight, you're seeing this boy exclusively- who you claim isn't your boyfriend- and yet you don't wanna tell him where you might be all day on Saturday? If he shows up at my door, I will tell him the truth." He threatened.

"Relax bro damn... It's not like it would matter anyway, he has to work that day, so no, you won't have to worry about him showing up at your door uninvited." I shrugged.

"Uh-huh. You seem to think you have this whole situation under control. What if Trey accompanies him? You and I both know that wouldn't be a pretty sight." He looked at me incredulously.

"He won't. I bet you he didn't even tell Trey that it was happening, that'd cause too many problems for the both of us. And honestly, I just want the shit to be over with as soon as possible. I don't think either one of us wants any more bullshit added to the situation." I said, with an easygoing attitude.

"Mhm. Well, I hope it goes well. If I see you with a black eye on Monday I'll know what happened." He snickered.

"Ain't shit gone happen, have some faith in me nigga. I know what I'm doing." I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
