Chris's POV
(Monday morning)
Adrenaline courses through my veins as I step through the front doors of the school. When I saw that text I had no idea how exactly to react. Up until that point, it was like I was completely nonexistent to him at best. What could he possibly want now?
"Who the fuck is that?"
"She fine as hell..."
"Why does that white boy's hair look like that? I thought we was the only ones that had that type of hair."
"Damn they tall as fuck, their daddy gotta be a basketball player or something..."
Wondering what all the commotion was about I walked over to my locker, which just so happened to be a few lockers down from Trey's. With this position, I was able to get the full scoop on this morning's drama.
"So what's your name?"
Some random girl asked the boy just a few lockers away from mine. He was extremely tall, even taller than CJ, with fair skin and an afro-like hairstyle. He actually kind of resembled CJ too, which seems kinda strange to me. There was also a girl with him, who herself very much towered over me and most other people in the school.
"Who the fuck are they?" Trey spoke up, startling me.
"You scared me half to death T, I thought I told you not to do that again!" I panted with my hand on my chest. He's always had a habit of not listening to the things I say so why do I even bother?
"I didn't mean to, I swear I didn't mean it this time." He awkwardly laughed. "I just came over here to apologize for the other day, that's all."
"How about we do that after school is out? I don't think we'll have time for that this morning..."
"For sure, I'll see you at lunch then?" I silently nodded, I wasn't really paying much attention to him because I was straining to listen to the overflowing conversations on the identity of the mysterious new duo.
"CJ!! CJ, over here!" The boy loudly called out. I turned around to see CJ heading toward where I assumed his locker was. He was also walking another boy, who himself was almost Trey's height, if not a little taller. When he saw who exactly called out to him, he simply sighed and rolled his eyes. He looked like he hadn't slept in days, his hair was tied up into a messy bun and he had very visible bags under his eyes. His eyes were bloodshot red and he was very clearly struggling to stay conscious. I guess he either didn't notice or didn't care as he unsteadily walked past Trey and I.
"I-is CJ okay...?" I whispered, tugging at Trey's sleeve before he was able to completely walk away from me.
"Huh? What about CJ?- Ah shit... Nigga definitely partied too damn hard." He sighed and shook his head. "He and Dee always go fucking overboard."
"I think I should go check on him..." I muttered, beginning to walk in his direction.
"No!" Trey grasped my arm so hard it hurt, I knew that'd definitely leave a bruise.
"We already talked about this Trey, I can fight my own battles so please let me go." I tried to get him to release but he just wouldn't let go.
"Wait a second you idiot, I'm not trying to stop you from talking to him, just look." He gestured over to where the boy and girl were standing as the boy began speaking to him. "Let's see how this plays out first." He muttered under his breath.
"Walk with me to my locker real quick. On and sorry for that." He finally let go of my arm and grabbed my hand, practically forcing me to walk with him.
