Quinn moaned the next morning as he began to wake up which stirred the woman he was curled up to. He had one hand wrapped in her hair, the other hand firmly grasping her ass, one of her legs were situated in between his with her thigh pressing up against his balls, her face was buried in his chest with her hot breath dancing over his bare chest. One of her arms were wrapped around his side holding him to her as closely as she could get him while she rested her head on her other hand. As she woke from her slumber, she inadvertently pressed herself further into the man she was wrapped around earning a groan from him. Waking up this way made it hard to keep his hands to himself. He kissed her forehead as he began to fully awaken.
"Morning, Lil Bit." He quietly stated making her smile sleepily.
"Morning."
She didn't bother detangling herself from him as they laid there together.
"You know...I could really get used to waking up like this." He stated as he gave her ass a squeeze making her smile again.
"Me too." She replied as her aunt's bedroom door could be heard squeaking open, "I should get up and start on breakfast."
"Yeah. I'm sure Chibs is ready to get back to the clubhouse. I don't know what's on my agenda when I return." He told her before a loud knock was heard at the door.
"Aria sweetie? Filip is taking me down to the diner for breakfast. We'll be back in a little while." Linda stated through the door.
"Ok Aunt Linda! Be safe and have fun!" Aria shouted back.
"Guess that just leaves you and me all alone in your house..." Quinn trailed as he gave her ass another squeeze.
"I still need to make me some breakfast. I have housework to get done." Aria told him.
"Housework can wait..." He stated before leaning down and started kissing on her neck.
"But I'm hungry..." She whined as she began nibbling on her.
"You're gonna be the death of me, you know that?" He questioned, eyes twinkling as he spoke.
"Can't help it. Dinner has worn off already." She shrugged, "Come on. Food will do you some good too. Especially if you have to get to work."
"Ok, ok." He relented before untangling himself from her and moving to sit on the edge of her bed.
She moved to kneel at his back and run her hands down his chest.
"I promise you, Rane, the right time will come." She quietly told him.
"I'm not mad, Aria. Honest." He grabbed one of her hands and gave it a squeeze.
She kissed his cheek before moving to climb off the bed. He watched as she grabbed some clothes from her closet before making her way to the bathroom to change. He wasn't mad but he was frustrated as hell. Although she hadn't meant to, she'd turned him on and now he had to deal with the aftermath of that. Thinking of dead puppies, his Harley wrecked, and his beloved mother killed finally did the trick as he quickly got dressed. She stopped in her room long enough to toss her nightgown on the bed before heading downstairs. He followed suit and sat at the kitchen table while she put on a pot of coffee. The ripped jeans and plain white tank looked good on her as she moved about the kitchen to make them some breakfast.
She was halfway through making eggs and sausages when his pre-paid went off. Jax was calling to let him know they had some club business and he was needed. Quinn promised to be right there making her raise an eyebrow at him. He apologized and told her some club business had come up. She just nodded and said she understood. He promised he'd call her later as he pulled her into his arms before kissing her. She made him promise to be careful earning a smile and a head nod. He left the house and hopped on his bike leaving her to finish up making breakfast for herself. Chibs was still out with her aunt and he figured they'd have to cut their excursion short so the Scotsman could bring Linda home and get his bike.
As Aria was eating her breakfast, Chibs came in with her aunt and helped the older woman to her chair in the living room. They chatted briefly before Chibs had to leave. The club came first, after all. Once she'd eaten, she cleaned up the kitchen from breakfast then began her normal cleaning of the house. Linda sat there in her chair not wanting to tell her niece just how much pain she was feeling or how tired she really was. Time was drawing short and she knew it. Her next doctor's appointment would determine how soon she'd have to go on hospice. Although she hated the idea of being stuck in the hospital, she knew it was best because Aria wouldn't be able to give her the kind of care she was going to need soon. Her niece had done the best she could and she was eternally grateful for all Aria had done for her.
That following Wednesday after her cancer treatment, Linda had her next doctor's appointment. She knew it was getting close to time for her to be put on hospice care and knew her niece was going to take it hard. She'd done all she could to help her aunt through her treatments and at home but there was nothing she could do to stop the inevitable. Aria's knee bounced up and down as they waited on the doctor to come in and talk with her aunt. He had done more testing so they were waiting on the results of that testing before speaking with them. Nearly an hour after they'd been shown into an exam room, Linda's vitals had been taken, and more blood drawn, the doctor finally entered the room. He gave Aria a sad smile as he sat down with Linda's chart.
"Despite all the treatments you've had, the cancer cells have spread. The only thing we can do for you now is comfort measures." The doctor stated making Aria have to fight back the tears.
"I know we've talked about me going into the hospital for hospice care instead of being at home. When will that happen?" Linda asked.
"I'd suggest soon. Based on what you've told me of your symptoms and the test results that came back, I'd say you only have a few weeks to maybe two months left." The doctor told them making Aria choke up.
"Can you help set this up for me?" Linda inquired.
"I'll send a referral to St Thomas along with your chart. You should be able to get in within the next few days." Her doctor told her.
"Thank you so much." Linda told him.
"It's no problem. It's what we're here for. The St Thomas hospice unit is a good facility. Great nurses, great doctors, they all listen to the patients. I've had nothing but good reviews come from other patients' family members about it." Her doctor stated although it didn't make Aria feel much better.
Hospice care meant her aunt had less than six months to live. Her doctor even said she only had weeks to a few months left. Then she'd be virtually alone in the world. Her aunt had always been so kind and loving towards her and didn't look down on her because her wanting to be a professional streamer. Linda had encouraged her to do what she wanted and to not look back. Now she was losing that and it stung deeply. The doctor shook Linda's hand who then looked over at her niece. She told the younger woman it was time to go so she could start making the arrangements for her to get hospice care at the hospital.
Aria remained quiet as they made their way home. As soon as they returned home and she got her aunt settled in her chair, Linda began making the phone calls she needed to make to get her into the hospital's hospice care unit. Aria needed to stream and knew it was going to be a challenge for her to fake being cheerful and even wanting to be there but it was her livelihood. As she was just about to start her stream, her aunt called down to her asking her to ask Quinn and Chibs over for dinner that night. Aria told her she would as she grabbed her phone.
Wolfie: Aunt Linda wants you 2 to come over for dinner tonight.
She got her stream goingand decided on playing some Outrider. Quinn's phone buzzed in his pocket as hewas working on a bike so he stopped to see who had texted him hoping it wasAria. Seeing her message made him smile. He and Chibs loved having dinner withthe two women. He walked over to the Scotsman and gave him the message Aria hadgiven him earning a wide smile. He quickly agreed loving getting to chat withhis friend as Quinn stayed in the basement with Wolfie. Quinn quickly repliedthey'd be there around six after they got off work and cleaned up from the workday. She ignored the buzzing of her phone as she played her game and respondedto the people in her chat.
