Chapter 6

Leila and Louis on top^^^

The only thing keeping me from trying not to sneak out of this hospital is Liam. If he wasn't here keeping me company I would have gone mad by now.

It was about 2 hours later, around 5 o'clock. Liam was sitting with me on the hospital bed as we talked and laughed about how dumb the TV show we were watching was; then there was a short knock on the door.

"Come in!" I softly yelled.

The first person that I saw was my older brother Louis and he had Lei behind him holding her hand.

"Oh, sorry were we interrupting something?" Lei said with a smirk on her face.

I didn't know what she was hinting at until I realized just how close Liam and I were sitting and how he practically had an arm around my shoulder.

"No. We were just talking about this dumb TV show." I said pointing at the hospital TV while subtly moving a bit away from Liam. He noticed my awkwardness and frowned but moved his arm to rest next to him, still slightly touching mine.

Louis looked at Liam with an intimidating expression on his face. "Firstly, who, the hell, are you, and why are you all wrapped up and cozy around my little sister," he stopped and looked at me and his expression softened "And Sofi what happened now? Are you ok?" he asked worried.

"Louis chill out. This is Liam." I paused, pointing at Liam, "He's new at school and we became good friends during first and second period," I paused and then introduced my brother. "Liam this is my older brother Louis." I paused again then continued to explain what happened. "Liam helped me get away from Gael during lunch, which happened right before I fainted and then I woke up here and you know why." I paused again just so that Louis could keep up. "Gosh why did it take you so long to get here? I've been here for hours and I just want to go home, thankfully Liam has been keeping me company." I said turning and giving Liam a smile.

"Well I'm sorry. I found out after lunch that you were brought here, and I couldn't leave. Then to top it all off I got detention after school, so I had to stay longer. But then I got hungry, so we stopped to get food on the way." Louis informed me while moving to stand closer to the side of the bed next to me. "Also, mate, I don't feel comfortable with you sitting so close to my little sister, so could you please do me the favor of getting out of the bed?" Louis said with a slightly angry face.

"Louis don't be rude..." Just then Liam's phone started ringing.

"It's alright Cupcake, I'll respect your brother's wishes. I need to take this call anyways, so I'll be right back." He said standing up and leaving the room quickly.

As soon as the door closed I smacked Louis in the arm. "You don't have to be so rude he's my friend and he was just keeping me company." I scolded him.

"Yeah right!" Lei, who has surprisingly been quiet this whole time stated, "I'm not buying that, clearly he's got a thing for you. I noticed it this morning and right now. You both were so close I'm surprised you weren't just sitting in his lap!" She exclaimed. "You like him, admit it. You got this look in your eyes when you were talking about how he practically rescued you from Gael during lunch." She continued.

"Yeah well so what if he likes me. I already told him I'm not looking for a relationship." I said as I crossed my arms and turned my head to look towards the door.

"Girl! Are you blind? Do you not see how hot he is not to mention how sweet he had been to you?" She said.

"Hey!!" Louis shouted.

"Baby, don't worry he is nowhere near as hot as you." She reassured him while wrapping her arms around his waist.

I just laughed and rolled my eyes, "Lei you're crazy. I told you I'm not looking for a relationship."

"But why not? He seems a whole lot nicer than Gael. Yes, you've only known him for a day, but you should at least make a move. He looks like he's so into you and you should try before someone else steals him from you." Lei exclaimed. I rolled my eyes and looked away. "C'mon Sofi look me in the eyes and tell me you aren't into him, and don't lie."

I stared at her with a serious look in my face. Yes, it's true. It has only been a day and we may have started off on the wrong foot, but she's right. He's nice and sweet and yeah, he's cute, but I just don't know, I feel like it's moving too fast.

"Uuugh... Fine I'll admit I do like him a little bit, but that's not the point we can't be anything more than just friends, and you know that. So, I'm just happy being friends." I said looking down. "Now can we please stop talking about this?" I asked, wanting to change the topic.

"Fine but answer me this first. I know you're scared, but if a great guy comes along and both of you have feelings towards each other, why don't you just forget about your illness for a while and enjoy the remaining time you have?" She said.

"Because he's a nice guy and he shouldn't have to put up with what I will put him through!!" I said looking up at her, "and don't you think it's moving a bit too fast? I mean I hardly know him." I frustratingly said.

I hadn't realized I was crying until Liam walked in and practically ran next to me, taking my face in his hands, "What's wrong Cupcake are you ok?" He wiped my tear stained cheeks, "Do you need me to call the nurse? Why haven't you guys called the nurse?" he said frantically looking at Lei and Louis while reaching for the call button. I reached for his hand and stopped him.

"Liam I'm fine just a bit emotional from being here is all." I said, giving him a small smile to reassure him.

"Are you sure? What happened while I was gone?" he asked, still unsure of what to do.

"I'm fine. Nothing happened, we were just talking." I said again trying to reassure him that I was fine. I mean I don't even know why I was crying, so how am I supposed to explain to him what's wrong with me?

"She's fine now can you guys please keep your hands to yourselves before I tie them behind your backs!" Louis exclaimed, making me blush and let go of Liam's hand quickly as he did the same.

"M'sorry." Liam said. "Well that was my mom. I'm needed at home, so I just came back to say goodbye and that I will come see you tomorrow after school ok?" He said looking me in the eyes almost as if he's checking to see if I was ok.

"Yeah sure I'm getting released tomorrow, I don't know if morning or afternoon though." I said unsure of what to tell him.

"Oh ok, and here," He said, pulling out my phone from his back pocket, I'm surprised he's had it this whole time, "Uh I kind of forgot to give it to you earlier sorry. Um I didn't snoop around on it, promise, but I put my number in it, so if you want to text me you can." He said shyly with a blush covering his cheeks.

"Ok, yea, thanks, uh I'll text you then." I said grabbing my phone with a smile.

"Ok well I'm going to go now," He said looking at me then at my brother and Lei.

"Ok. Bye Liam and thanks for keeping me company." I said.

"No problem Cupcake." He smiled, and I opened my arms to give him a hug. He leaned over and gave me a quick hug. I looked over at Louis, as he looked like he was about to say something but I gave him the look that said, 'Shut up and let it be'. Liam pulled away and smiled. "Ok well it was nice to see you again Leila, and nice to meet you Louis." He said as he waved and left.

As soon as he left I ignored Louis' remarks about PDA and checked my phone notifications, just people from school asking if I was ok and I noticed Liam had texted himself so he could have my number. He saved himself as 'Liam ;)'. I smiled and answered some of the text messages I had, and then texted Liam a quick 'thank you for helping me out today.' I figured he wouldn't answer it right away since he was driving home.

I chatted with Eli about school drama for about an hour and then she had to leave. Louis gave her a ride home and said he would come back with his stuff so he can stay with me and leave for school in the morning from here. I just watched TV until he returned.
