LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Chapter 2

As I got to school, I ran to my first period class. I opened the door, and everyone was talking among themselves. It was then that I realized the teacher still wasn't in class yet. I sighed in relief and walked over to take my seat next to my best friend.

I set my books and purse on the table. then gave her a hug before I sit down.

"Hey Lei." I said, pulling away from the embrace.

"Hey Sofi, why are you so late? You're always the first one here." She asked.

"I was on my way to school and I almost became roadkill!" I exclaimed.

"What?? Oh, my gosh! Are you ok?" She asked in a panicked voice giving me another hug.

"Yes I am. It's just, it happened so quick and I got all worked up and now I can't get my heart to stop beating 100 miles an hour." I said. "I've tried eve..."

Just as I was about to finish my sentence the teacher walked in.

"Quiet everyone I'm sorry I'm late." he said.

I didn't look up until I heard the next words that came out of his mouth.

"We have a new student..." my head snapped up.

Just as he announced the name, my almost killer walked in standing next to his desk "This is Liam."

"What's he doing here?" I gasped to myself in a whisper.

"You know him?" I heard Lei ask me quietly.

"Yeah I..." was all I could say because I heard the teacher call on me.

"Huh what?... I mean yes sir?" I said quickly.

"Liam, you can sit next to Sofia over there." He said pointing at the seat next to mine.

He gave a quick response as he walked over in my direction with a small smile on his face. I guess he recognized me.

"Nice to see you again Sofia" he said with a smile still prominent on his face as he sat down.

"Hello, Liam, is it?" I asked.

"Yes." he answered.

"How do you two know each other?" Lei asked.

"I'll tell you later," I told her.

"Ok, oh how rude of me I'm Leila but my friends call me Lei." She said as she introduced herself and held out her hand.

"Hello Leila, nice to meet you." He replied, kissing her hand.

Our conversation came to a stop as the teacher had called on me to begin the reading and we began the class lecture.
