LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Chapter 8

It was 2:30p.m. when the nurse came to check my vitals and talked me through the doctor's orders. He had signed my discharge forms already and had said I was able to get dressed.

While I was doing my hair there was a knock on my door and a head popped in. "Hey Cupcake are you ready to go?" Liam asked, stepping in behind me.

"Yeah I am let's go," I said, turning around and stepping towards him. He put his arm around me and we walked out.

" Where are we going?" I asked, feeling relieved now that I was finally leaving the place I dreaded most.

"I'm taking you back home, you need your rest." He answered.

" Noooooo... please I dont wanna go home." I whined.

"Cupcake come on, you need your rest." he tried to persuade me, as I pouted and crossed my arms over my chest, "Now don't be like that, I only want what's best for your health."

"Fine. Take me home then you party pooper." I said to him jokingly while sticking my tongue out at him.

He just chuckled in response as he led me out the hospital doors and toward his car that was parked in the patient pick up.

As we pulled up into my driveway I noticed Louis' car wasn't there so he must still be at practice. Before I could undo my seat belt Liam rushed out of the car to come and open my door for me as he held his hand out.

"Thanks Li." I chuckled.

"Any time Cupcake." he said with a smile. He grabbed my bags from the back seat and then reached for my hand to walk me to the door. I saw Liam pull out a key that looked very familiar as he unlocked the door.

"Louis gave me his house key incase you forgot yours so I thought I might as well use it to save you the trouble of having to search all your bags." He said shyly.

How thoughtful was he. I thought as I swooned. He's too kind to me. It's going to be so hard not to think of him as just a friend because he's honestly such a caring guy and I've only known him for 2 days.

As we walk in he looks around at everything. I noticed he stopped for a while and was staring at a picture of me, Lei and Louis when we were younger, and he just smiles.

I then come to realize I haven't showered in two days and become very conscious about it.

"Uh have a seat on the couch and make yourself at home. I'm going to run up and take a shower real quick ok?" I say as he continues to look around.

"Sure Cupcake. Take your time, I'm here if you need anything." He says.

With that I make my way upstairs toward my room to grab fresh clothes and a towel before heading toward the bathroom.

After drying my hair and putting on fresh clothes I step out of the bathroom and I'm hit with the smell of my favorite thing in the world. Spaghetti!! I walk towards the kitchen and see Liam in there behind the stove.

"How did you know I love Spaghetti?" I ask excitingly. He jumps a little as he turns around with a shy smile while he scratches the back of his neck startled by my presence.

"Oh... Uh I called Louis and asked what your favorite thing to eat was. Then he told me that you always have things to make spaghetti so with a bit of searching I found everything. I hope that's ok with you. I promise I'll clean up after I'm finished ." He rambles.

"It's ok. I'm actually starving because the hospital food was crap." I say and giggle.

"Ok well it's almost done so go have a seat and I'll find the serving plates." He says as he starts opening cabinets.

"No. Here let me help you." I laugh as I open the right ones.

As we start serving our plates I hear the door open and my loud brother runs in yelling. And Lei chuckled behind him.

"Honey I'm home! You guys better be decent!!" I groan and mentally facepalm myself. 'Why is he like this?!'

"Oh hush up babe!" I hear my best friend reprimand him. 'Thank you bestfriend' I think to myself as I roll my eyes ignoring my obnoxious brother.

"Hey you guys are right on time. Food is ready." Liam offers.

"Oh a man after my heart. Thanks Payno!" He says as he bro hugs Liam and snatches a plate from him.

"Hello to you too brother!!" I say feeling left out. And smack his arm as he reaches around me to grab a cup as well.

"Sorry sis. How are you doing?" He asks with concern.

"I'm doing good. I just want to be acknowledged if you're gonna be eating the food that Liam made for me!" I tell him jokingly as I hand a plate to Lei and he sticks his tongue out at me.

We all take our plates and drinks to the table and begin to eat while we talk about random stuff.

As we finish Liam starts picking up all of our dishes and I stand to help him but he tells me to sit back down.

"I told you I'll clean up. Don't worry about anything cupcake." He scolds me.

I sigh and sit back down.

"Babe why don't you go help Liam with the cleaning and dishes." Lei says as she gives him a look as if to say 'please we need girl talk.' He groaned but listened to his girlfriend. And walks off to help Liam.

As soon as Lei heard movement in the kitchen she dragged me up and took me to sit on the couch.

"So... are you going to tell Liam about... you know?'' she asked in a whisper while giving me the look as if telling me not to play dumb.

I think long and hard about it because I know I eventually have to tell him.

"Yeah, but I need time to figure out how to tell him." I whispered back slightly frustrated. I know it's something serious and the way things are going I know I'm gonna have to do it soon.

Almost as if my best friend can read my mind she tells me.

"Sofi, you don't have that much time, sorry for being blunt, but it's the truth, you need to tell him before it's too late." she said.

I looked towards the kitchen as I heard Liam and Louis laughing and getting along.

"I know. Ugh I know I just met him but, I'm already afraid of losing him if I tell him the truth... and I don't think I can handle that." I finished in a quiet sad voice.

"Yes, I know you just met him but he seems like the perfect guy for you. You won't lose him if you speak with the truth.," she said, as we hear them finishing up. "Just think about it. Ok?" she says quickly as they come in towards the living room. I sigh, put on a smile and try to make it seem like we weren't just having this conversation.
