"Language!" Carrie had scolded their 15-year-old daughter for the second time today as they were by the living room. She was resting her head on Mike's lap, trying to get some sleep after a long day in the studio,

Charlotte had her nose stuck on her phone texting her friends. Being bugged by her little brother's story about his dreams isn't that fun right now. "Sorry." The teen mumbled, still not looking up from her phone.

Isaiah kept on poking her sister's back, though his sister wouldn't listen to him so he kept tugging on Charlotte's arm. "Charlie, listen!"

"Gosh darn it, Isaiah! Would you shut the fuck up for a while?!" Charlotte yelled, swatting her brother's hand from her arm.

"Watch your mouth, Charlotte Mae!" Carrie sat up, picking up Isaiah from beside her daughter. "What did I just tell you?" Carrie was yelling, that was the last straw for her.
Charlotte has been used to swearing this days though she still tries to avoid it. She looked down, face turning pale at an instant. She didn't know how to react.

Mike tugged on Carrie's arm. "Babe, calm down. I'll handle this." He said. "Charlie, go to your room, now." He commanded, calmly.

Charlotte nodded, not being able to look at Carrie. "Sorry, mom." She mumbled before standing up and making her way to the stairs.

"Leave your phone here." Carrie called, glaring at her daughter.

Charlotte nodded again, placing her phone on the coffee table, before sprinting upstairs.

Mike side-hugged Carrie, who was playing with their son, kissing her temple. "Don't be too harsh on her. She's just a kid."

Carrie rolled her eyes. "A kid who swears!" She countered.

Mike sighed. "Come on, she's got a lot of peers surrounding her, we don't know how they could influence her into doing or saying things we don't want her to." He smiled softly. "There will come a time where she'll fully know the difference from right and wrong, but right now, what we need to do is to guide her."

Carrie thought of what Mike said. He has a point. Realizing her husband was right, she smiled back at him. "I love you."

"I love you more, princess." Mike ducked down, capturing his wife's lips. "Let me go talk to her, alright?" He said grabbing his daughter's phone from the table. He jogged upstairs to his daughter's room.

Carrie sat down on the couch, listening to her son's stories, and laughing at how silly Isaiah is. And sure enough, five minutes later, Mike and Charlotte descended down the stairs.

Charlotte went beside her mom, probably a couple of inches away. "Mom?" She whispered.

Mike went to get Isaiah from Carrie, going to the kitchen for a while giving his wife and daughter a space to talk.

Carrie looked at her daughter, she was now calm though.

"Sorry." Charlotte said, fidgeting with her fingers. "I didn't mean to yell at Isaiah and swear."

"Come here." Carrie held out her arms, smiling. "I just don't want you cursing especially in front of your brother. I just always want to see you and your brother having a good bonding, you know, he just wants to share his thoughts with you." She looked down at her daughter. "He looks up at you so much."

"I know and i'm really sorry." Charlotte replied. "I promise it won't happen again."

Carrie smiled, kissing her daughter's forehead. "Better not happen again." She smirked.

"I love you Mama." Charlotte cooed, snuggling up to her mom's chest.

"I love you too, Charlie." Carrie kissed the top of her daughter's head, looking over at Mike who was by the kitchen counter, smiling at them.

Mike joined the duo, bringing them into a huge family hug. "This is gtting so mushy!" Carrie whined, laughing.
