I'm making it a Pietro Maximoff X ANY in an AU where Wanda died instead of him.
You didn't ask for this. Okay, maybe you did, in a sense. No one told you to use these powers. If you had the chance, you would go back in time and tell yourself to either a) leave Sokovia early, or b) never go there at all. Your trip to Sokovia was ruined when you got kidnapped by some guy who liked to poke you with a staff. No, not a staff. A scepter. And the damned thing gave you some stupid fire power. You might have been ok with it if the fire was everywhere, or if you could move it to different body parts, but no. The only place it could be without burning you were your hands. Bleh.
Back to now, where a white-haired boy in a grey bodysuit was holding you against a wall. His outfit had singes in various places; you put those there. "What do you want?" The boy demanded. "Oh, you know. The usual. I believe people call it a want for attention? Or was it the need for recognition? I don't know. Sorry about this, but I don't have a choice." A confused look spread across his face, then turned to one of pain when you lit your hands up and clamped them down on his wrists. Hero-Boy howled in pain, letting go of you and jumping back. You laughed; the look on his face was hilarious. But he also looked like the burn wasn't the only source of pain...
"I'm sorry," you suddenly blurted. Honestly. His gaze shifted to your face in surprise. "Are you okay? I have burn cream," you said as you pulled the aforementioned cream out of one of your pockets and walked over to him. (You basically dress like Rin Okumura from Blue Exorcist but with a black utility belt) "What kind of villain are you?" He muttered, warily taking the salve. As he rubbed it into his wrists, you sat next to him. "The kind that doesn't want this. My options were be a hero, or this, and I can't really do either. Society won't just let a supernatural live in peace without touching their powers. This is just easier." You heard a phone chime, and he took his out. 'Quicksilver, do you need help?' So his name was Quicksilver. Way better than yours, that's for sure. (What kind of villain name is SkyFire anyways?)
"You could be a hero. Your fire is strong- and don't even argue; I just felt it firsthand. Perfect for fighting," Quicksilver said to you. "I'd suck at it. Why do you care anyways?" He sent a 'no' back to whoever messaged him. "Why do you hate this power?" He asked, ignoring your reply.
"I never wanted it. It was forced into me." He stood up, offering you a hand. You didn't take it, not wanting to make the pain from the burns worse. "So was mine, technically. I mean, I volunteered for it... and I went with my sister." His voice caught on the word sister. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just- she died, last year. In Sokovia, when we helped the Avengers fight Ultron. She took a few bullets to save Hawkeye and a kid's lives. Come with me." Quicksilver took your hand and gave it a squeeze. "You'll just have me arrested," you said, but didn't pull back. He smiled and started walking, pulling you with him. It wasn't a forced pull, you could let go if you wanted, you thought. You didn't though, (for some strange reason. Your brain was yelling at you to let go, but your instinct was telling you it was safe.) and stumbled after him.
"I won't. But if you really don't want the power, I may have a friend that can help you. I think, I'm not sure." You nodded. "I'll take the chance. Thank you."
Once you met the Avengers, you instantly changed your mind. It took a few months, but they started to train you. The public was happy to find that the heroes had 'discovered' someone willing to help. No one, save the Avengers and a few members of S.H.I.E.L.D. knew you were the ex-villain SkyFire.
All they knew was that they loved you.
