Happy birthday to my bestest friend and absolute favorite reader because they are awesome and I love them!! And happy birthday to any of my other birthday boys/girls/non-binary pals!!!! I love all of my readers-You are all my children/siblings!!!!!!!!!!!

Also I just passed my Adobe Certification test with a 907, which was 207 points above the goal. Hold the applause. (Or don't. I'm extremely vain.)

You grinned to yourself as you got out of bed, pulling on some ripped jeans and a t-shirt. (And a hoodie, of course. You wouldn't be you without them.) Nobody but an online friend knew this, but today was your birthday. Well, someone else knew- You had a partner after all. Speaking of which, where-

Right as you had the thought, you heard soft singing coming from your kitchen. It wasn't in any language you knew, but it was one you recognised. Old Norse. Which meant a certain someone would be in the kitchen. "Hi Loki!" You said happily, jumping onto his back and giving him a full body hug. The god smiled at you over his shoulder, then went back to what he was doing. "Are you making pancakes?"

"Yes. Is that okay with you darling? They're chocolate chip," he replied, flipping one with a swift flick of his wrist. He did everything swiftly- Cooking, cleaning, fighting, evading the Avengers. (A fact which you enjoyed more than you should have, but you couldn't help it. You were the kid in high school that always looked like they could beat even the best trained assassin in a knife fight.) You smiled at him and dropped down, then ducked under his arm so you could lean against him and watch him cook.

About 10 minutes later, the two of you were sitting next to each other at your table, splitting a stack of pancakes. In typical Loki fashion, the gentleman waited for you to take a bite before eating- and gave you the widest smile you'd ever seen when you reacted. "Oh my gods! This is sooo good! What did you put in here; there's no way that's just batter and chocolate chips," you gushed, staring at him wide eyed. Loki lifted a shoulder. "Nothing, other than my love for you, darling. Do you like it?" You nodded. "Yes!"

After breakfast, you stood up to clean the dishes, but with a (yes, swift) flick of his wrist, Loki magically cleaned and put them away. "Thanks, my king." Loki smiled and jumped, landing around your shoulders as a snake. He nuzzled your cheek, his forked tongue tickling the skin. "Happy birthday, my love."
