"I'm sorry," Soda says through the other side of the phone.

"For what? For telling me you decide to stay in a war zone for another year? That's not something an apology covers. An apology covers a lot of things, but not that," I cry.

"Dylan, please," he says softly.

"No! No, Soda no! You know damn well, I've had a hard time with this, but you have to stay another year! Why?"

"Because, they'll start drafting girls soon and....and....and.....I saw Sandy Smith as the last name on the page, but if I stay she doesn't have to go in."

"Oh so this is for Sandy, you're first love. That's the real reason you're hurting me and possibly killing yourself. Well then maybe she should be your wife and carry your kids Sodapop because, I'm done!"

"What are you saying?"

"I don't know what I'm saying Soda, but I'm really tired and I gotta go."

"Wait!" He yells, but I hang up on him.

I drop to my knees crying at eight and a half months pregnant without my Sodapop, or my Two-bit, or my Dallas. I've lost three of the most important people in the last three weeks. One person a week. I sit on the floor and just cry as I hear the door open. "Dylan?" I hear a deep, New York, tough accent say.I look up to see Dally and all he does is gasp. We stay like that for a minute just starring at each other, until I run into his arms sobbing. "What's wrong Dylan? What happened?"

"Soda's staying in war for another year and he did it for Sandy," I sob into his now tear stained shirt.

"I'm so sorry Dylan," he replies as he rubs my back. "I'm not selling anymore. I stopped for you. That's what I came here to tell you."

I look up at him with a broken smile before I sarcastically ask, "well aren't you happy you came?"

"Yes, I am. I'm really happy I came," he replies. "I think Two-bit should stop over too."

"He won't," I reply. "He hates me."

He pulls me to the couch, "that's funny because, he thinks you hate him."

"What? I could never hate him."

"Well then lets go tell him."

"No, I can't see him!"

"Yes, you can," he smiles as he scoops me up. "Wow, Dylan eight months pregnant with twins and you're still light."

"Thanks bestie," I smile.

"By the way, I'm sorry Dylan," he chokes out. Dally hates to say he's sorry to anybody.

"For what?"

"For being a jerk and for doing everything wrong for yelling at you the other day when you didn't deserve it."

"Well you're forgiven. I love you too much Dally, you're my brother."

"When I first say you, I thought we'd be the ones to get married. You seemed tough and then I actually meet you and we became best friends. On top of the fact that Lexi's the girl for me," he chuckles lowly with a huge smile on his face.

"Yes, she it," I smile as we get to Two-bit's house

Dally places me on the porch knock then leaves making me have to face Two-bit alone even though it's still obvious I was crying. I stand there awkwardly until he open the door welcoming me with a hug, "I'm so sorry Dylan."

"No, I'm sorry," I reply.

"No, it happened seven years ago and I was just mad at Rosie."

"Two-bit?"

"Yea Dyl."

"Soda's staying in war for another year."

He pulls away and looks at me in the eyes, "is that why you've been crying? Are you okay Dylan?"

I shake my head, "no. He did it for Sandy."

"I'm sorry," is all he can say.

"For his first love."

"Well you gotta remember your first love is very important."

"Yea, but so is your safety, your wife, and your babies."

"I'm so sorry Dylan for everything that has happened to you lately."

"It's okay Two-bit."

"Please, come in."

"Okay, thanks buddy," I smile as I playfully punch.

"No problem buddy," he mimics punching me playfully too.
