"C'mon, we gotta see if Soda's okay," I yell as I run to where the military train is letting off.
"Somebody's excited," Dally laughs as I continue to run.
We finally get to where it's letting off and I watch as one by one the soldiers get off, but no sign of Sodapp. With every soldiers more tears build up behind my eyes and my heart breaks a little more. After a couple minutes after the last soldier exits, I release he was in the plain. I look at the gang who are all pretty much in tears. The tears start to roll down my face as I turn to the gang, "I'm gonna go now...Please don't follow me, please."
"Dylan," Lexi starts, but I run off. I run until I get around the corner. I lean against the plain gray wall as the tears form little puddle on the ground. I cover my face with my hands as I cry. He's never gonna know our kids. We're not gonna be able to redo our vows or grow old together, we're never gonna be a family. I feel as my legs get weak and I drop to the ground in my sobs. "Sodapop, you can't leave me," I mumble.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and I look up to see a soldier, "are you Dylan Rose Curtis?"
I sniffle a little wipping my tears away, "Yes, why?"
"Soda's one of my closest friends," he smiles. "We talk about our wives all the time. I'm married to Marilyn Romero.."
"Wait. Do you know if Soda was on the plain?" I ask him.
He looks at me dumbfounded, "Sodapop? No, he was supposed to be on that plain, but he threw up all over the place that day. Funny huh?"
"Where is he?" I ask him my voice shaking.
"He's at his house. He was the first one off because, he charmed his way off the train and he's heading home to surprise you."
"I gotta get home thank you so much," I squeal as I hug him and run out of the plateform.
I take a taxi home, but stop him early when I see a soldier who looks likes Sodapop and if it's him, I'll walk. I get out of the car and yell, "Pepsi-Cola!"
He turn around and a smile forms on his face, "my little pickle!"
"Sodapop," I cry as I run to him.
"Dylan," he lets out a loud sob as he also runs to me. The second I get to him he wraps his arm around me and I wrap my arms around his neck falling into the kiss as I pick up my one foot. We finally pull away after the most passionate filled kiss I've felt as we both cry as he hugs me, "I love you so damn much Dylan and these last three months were awful, but we have two weeks and I'll be here for your twentieth."
"Sodapop, I missed you so much and I thought you were dead when I heard your name. I'm so happy you were sick," I laugh through my tears.
"Me too my little-pickle, me too," he smiles as he hugs me once again.
I laugh making him laugh too. "Wanna go see the gang, they're at the Curtis house?"
"Okay," he smiles. "Let's go my little pickles."
"Lets go my pepsi-cola," I smile as I peck his cheek.
"You missed," he sighs.
"What?" I ask before he grabs my cheek pulling my lips to his as we share another passionate filled kiss that makes butterflies erupt in my stomach. "I love you Sodapop."
"I love you more Dylan," he smiles as he places his arm around my shoulder and takes his hat off placing it on my head.
"Impossible," I laugh.
"Nah," he snickers as we continue walking just like down the streets of Tulsa with his arm around me, my arm snaked around his waist, as I wear his hat. For this moment everything seems perfect.
