Nobodys point of view
"Don't you dare start the car Sasha!"
"But Maggie the walke-"
"We need to wait for Glenn!!"
"Maggie the walkers are closing in and someone from Woodbury could take the advantage any second and kill us, we have to go!" Katelyn pushed,
"But-" Maggie wiped a tear away with her sleeve and sniffled, "Everyones dead aren't they," She sobbed.
"Oh my god Maggie don't say that, they are just as strong as us, imma be honest they are stronger. If we survived they did, don't think negatively."Maggie nodded trying to slow down her breathing again.
The walkers finally made it up to the car and started violently smashing at the windows to get inside,
"Okay we really need to go now!!" Tom yelled, and without asking Maggie, Sasha stepped on the accelerator."My daddy's gone," Maggie cried, and Katelyn soothed her by giving her a hug,
"Your father was a great man," she told her, "He would've done anything for you, and the group."Sasha didn't take her eyes or mind from the road as she dodged hundreds of walkers.
After about twenty minutes they were on the main road, it was pretty clear, but the odd few walking dead came out of the forest at the side."Whats that?" Sasha said, putting on her breaks and peering ahead,
"Whats what?" Tom said looking the same direction as her,
"Oh its nothing, I thought I saw a motorbike, must be hallucinating.""Are you sure..."
"Yeah lets just get back on the road."The drive was about an hour, for most of it they didn't even know where they were heading.
Soon enough they decided to head for an estate nearby-ish.When they arrived they carefully selected a home to stay the night.
"That one doesn't have any smashed windows," Katelyn said pointing to one,
"Yeah but that one has another floor," Tom said pointing to another,
"I don't mind, all the houses have flaws, Maggie?" Sasha said nudging Maggie who was in her own world,
"Huh? Oh I don't care."
"Okay then the one with the extra floor," Katelyn decided, and they all headed towards it."Its really beautiful," Maggie said stepping up to the front door, "The sort of house I would've definitely bought if I had the money,"
"Maggie don't lie, you had the money, your dads farm was the biggest success ever," Sasha giggled,
"Thats my dad, Sasha, and may I remind you that he's gone now so please could you keep the mockery to yourself,"
"Sorry," she quietly apologised.Once inside, they checked for walkers. It seemed that they were lucky because there was no growling at all, not even coming from the dark and damp depths of the basement.
Inside was just as grand as outside, it looked like a famous author could live here, the place screamed inspiration. Family portraits hung on the walls and it seemed like a normal, but well off, family of four.
"We'll sleep on the top floor," Tom said, not really asking but stating it as a fact, "Its safer and we can keep a lookout from the windows."
"The broken windows," Katelyn scoffed,
"Whatever," Tom laughed."Its gonna be a cold night, so everyone go round the rooms looking for blankets and cushions- anything you can find," Maggie said, "But at least we can sleep knowing were high up enough so that danger cant reach us."
Everyone did as told and split up around the house.
Toms point of view
The war was terrifying, and I knew I was mentally scarred now for life.
The dead bodies, the blood, the real gore, that shit sticks with you.
As I collected the cushions on a huge, king-sized bed, I couldn't for the life of me get the images out of my head."How much you got?" Katelyn said entering the room,
"Four pillows, three blankets," I replied,
"Why can't we just sleep in the beds?" Katelyn huffed. I shrugged,
"I don't know, we need to be on the top floor and there aren't any beds on the top floor,"
"Mhm."I watched as Katelyn left the room, she was so ugly, I MEAN PRETTY-
The way her greasy bangs swept over her shoulders and the wiff of sweat trailed behind her.
I don't mean to be rude, but my girlfriend needed a shower.
Even in a puddle would be enough.
Maybe I would drown her in that puddle.
Jokes.I did like Katelyn, but yeah she could sometimes be a little irritating.
Soon enough everyone was on the top floor and sharing cushions, duvets and blankets.
I managed to dibs the fluffiest one, but Katelyn wanted it and we ended up arguing.
In the end Sasha got fed up and tore it in half just to stop us.The night passed quickly, it was cold but we all managed to get at least three hours of sleep because we had watch shifts each.
And in the morning I felt better than ever, the good sleep had taken the weight of the war off my shoulders. It didn't seem to do the same for Maggie though, she couldn't seem to get over her fathers death. It was understandable seeing as it was just a day ago, but she needed to focus on surviving now again.
Katelyns point of view
"Ew shower," a voice said behind me in a cold whisper, I turned around but only Tom was there. He was too nice to say anything like that, so I ignored it.I did go and have a shower though, finally.
I think everyone didn't recognise me without the mud crusted all over my face and the cheesy smelling feet.Oh well, its what happens in a zombie apocalypse.
