Minjimi flipped through the pages of her book, a little pink flower fluttered down onto the text, she picked it up and set it aside, letting it fall onto the grass alongside the many other fallen cherry petals. It got dark and she kept her eyes glued to the book. "I'm not in the mood to play around, Seokjin."

"So that's where you've been?"

Minjimi looked up, her throat drying out, Jeongguk and Jimin glared at her, arms crossed, slightly blocking out the sun. "You guys! Jimin...you're feeling better?" Minjimi stood up and closed her book. "I'm fine," Jimin scoffed, "why the hell are you still here? You made this whole big spiel about how we shouldn't be here, yet you still come to us, abandon us behind, for what? This guy who you just met? Over us who've you known since childhood?"

"I want you both to leave this town, you would get in so much trouble! Jimin you got shot!" Minjimi argued. Jeongguk sneered. "You expect us to leave this town? Because we're just dirty pigs compared to you and you think we can leave behind our childhood home?"

"What?! No! I've never thought that! Not even for once. I'm trying to protect you from possibly being jailed, worse, executed! I have money to be able to get free from jail, you do not!"

"Your parents are cutting you off completely! You aren't going to have the money anymore to even do that? Remember when we were kids and our main motto was 'if the pillars fall, the building goes with'? What happened to that? What happened to one of us falling and the others crashing with them? It's ridiculous that you think your money is going to save you from this!" Jimin shouted.

"You are being completely unreasonable!"

"We are telling you exactly what is going on! We thought you were better than that but it turns out you're just the same as every other rich girl here. Spoiled, bratty, and using mommy and daddy's money to get her out of trouble and leaving her friends behind who don't have any to rot away." Jeongguk spat. Minjimi fell speechless, mouth agape, her heart sinking down slowly, it felt like her body became heavy, her heartbeat pounding all over her. She tried to form words but all that came out were little noises.

The two boys walked away, leaving her dumbfounded, her throat closed up and her eyes watered. That moment played over and over like a broken record player in her head. My best friends just left me?

Was it her fault? She knew how much the town meant to them, asking them to pack up and leave would be too much. Grabbing her book and throwing it as hard as she could against her cherry tree, she cursed in her head, hitting the tree with her hand and blinded by hot tears. Childhood best friends, and they just...left her.

Minjimi plopped down into the grass and leaned against the tree, staring at the straps of her book bag. There really wasn't an even playing field for her, was there?
