You stayed in the infirmary beside Izuku. His right arm was completely shattered, almost as if his quirk didn't know how to keep in control inside his body.

He was trying to hold back from using it, scared from hurting himself and hurting his friends. Recovery Girl walked over to his bed with a few pain relief medicines.

"If he doesn't find a way to use his quirk without injuring himself like this then he'll soon have damage beyond repair."

You woke up hours after your exercise. Recovery Girl said you weren't injured in anyway, in fact, the reason you passed out was from overusing your quirk. You were running on adrenaline the whole time when Katsuki pulled the pin, once you tried to use your quirk to stop him it put a lot of strain on your body. All of it was a sign for you to start training your power.

You pressed your fingers against your nose. "Why didn't he tell me he manifested a quirk.. if he had then we could've figured something out."

"You know the boy?", Chiyo asked.

You nodded. "We went to middle school together. Him and Bakugo knew each other since they were kids so I don't have a full background on how those two communicate. But Bakugo was a bit of a bully to both of us, which is probably why me and him became friends."

You said the word 'friend' with more meaning this time. As sad as the truth was, now that he had a quirk you two could actually get to know each other better. You've tried to dig into Izuku's background before, but the guy was very distant and shy about it. He must've thought you'd make fun of him. It set a huge barrier. "He was quirkless when I first met him, but I guess the science in how quirks work still aren't fully understood yet. To have such a power come at age fifteen.. it sounds scary."

Chiyo smiled sweetly as you talked about what you were thinking out loud. You did that sometimes, some things you just had to let out. Perhaps you'd invest in journaling to keep your thoughts in balance, otherwise if you kept on talking like you were a philosopher people will think you've gone mad.

"That Bakugo kid came by earlier, you know. He didn't speak much, but he stayed to make sure I was keeping you hydrated."

You perked up. Katsuki came by? That was.. unusual. He had weird ways of saying "I'm sorry" or giving any apology in general. That pride of his was always getting in the way.

"Really? Well.. I don't really know how to respond to that."

Chiyo chuckled. "Well then. You've been here all day, you should head back to class. I don't want you getting in trouble with your teacher."

Just as she said that, Izuku
stirred. You turned to face him as he slowly sat up.

"(Y/n)..?", he said tiredly. It took him a few seconds to actually realize where he was, then he sat up quickly. "(Y/N)! Are you okay?! Did I hurt you?"

You eyes widened. He went from zero to one hundred in matter of three seconds. Wasn't he just passed out? "I'm fine, Izuku! You're the one who's hurt right now, I don't think you should be moving too much."

"Oh he'll be fine. His body is caught up with the healing process I gave him, his arm should heal just fine in a few days. But be careful, I don't want you becoming a regular patient." Chiyo gave Izuku a stern look as she walked back over to her desk. Izuku nodded profusely out of embarrassment.

"Yes, ma'am. I'm sorry, I just.. I couldn't find a different way to win the exercise."

"Well", you said. "For someone who was able to handle Bakugo without using his quirk, I would say you did an impressive job on keeping your ground."
