Chapter Nine: Melt Away

"Wait, wait!"

Levi swiftly picked her up bridal style and continued to run towards the lake. (Y/N) gripped onto him tightly, swinging her legs in the air as she continued laughing and yelling,
"Set me down I don't wanna get wet!" She yelled, "Levi!"
He ran right into the cold water, splashing the both of them. She shivered at how surprisingly cold it was even though it only hit her legs. He spun her around, bending down slightly so more of her body was hitting the water,
"Stop!" (Y/N) laughed, "Put me down, seriously!"
"Alright." He said.
Suddenly, he let go of her, and she fell right into the cold water. Levi placed a hand on his hip, watching as she sat up in the water and glared at him through the droplets of water running over her eyelashes,
"Are you upset?" He teased, bending down, "Your expensive clothes are soaked now."
"Does it look like I care about the clothes?!" She yelled, kicking her foot so the water could splash onto him, "Asshole!"
She tried to stand up in the water, but Levi grabbed her leg to keep her with him. He fell down onto his knees and the two got into a water fight.

No matter how many times she wanted to leave the cold water, he held her back. Levi showered her with his warm kisses even though she was still vividly angry. It was fun being careless and not giving a shit about who would see them. They both had to keep up an image, but the moment they're alone, they were just two regular people who were in love and just wanted to be loose. (Y/N) eventually gave into him and started to ignore the fact that she was freezing cold and soaked.
It was around dinner time when they both got into the lake. She came outside to call him in to eat, but noticed that he was enjoying the bonfire he made while having a drink. Levi told her that they should eat outside for their first night to which she agreed on. But before they could even eat, she was attracted to how the lake looked underneath the moonlight. They were talking to each other at a distance, but once the conversation about taking a quick swim sometime soon came up, he suddenly got up and proceeded to ask if she wanted to do it now. Even though (Y/N) told him "no" multiple times, they still somehow managed to end up where they were now. She was angry, yes, but loved to see the expression of joy and happiness on her husband's face. He swam deeper into the lake but she didn't follow, claiming that she never knew how to swim but enjoyed staying at the bay. He offered to help her learn how, but she didn't want to take lessons now.
They were on their honeymoon after all...

Only two days had passed after they got married that they were packing up to leave for their honeymoon. The plan was to spend a week to the countryside all alone. Nobody but the two of them to have their time together all alone. The property belonged to the Fritz family, specifically underneath (Y/N)'s name, so it wasn't a place she was unfamiliar with. During their preparations for the wedding, they also discussed their plans for the honeymoon. When she brought up the home as a suggestion, Levi immediately agreed to it. He seemed to like the idea of the peace and quiet the countryside brought.
The couple rode in the royal train from Mitras all the way to the country. It roughly took about a day, and they both decided to do as much work on the way. At their arrival, they took a carriage all the way to the home which sat nearby a man-made lake and with a small forest only a couple hundred meters away to the side of it. It was perfect for the two of them. They needed the quiet life.

The third day of their honeymoon was uneventful. They woke up in the late morning and lazed around for the rest of the afternoon. Guessing that the both of them needed a break from doing activities all day long to replenish their energy. Mere hours after dinner, the two of them were seated in the living room talking to each other. It was mostly stories about their time in the Underground. Eventually, the conversation started to die down and they sat in silence. Levi suddenly stood up from the couch and looked at her,
"If you don't mind, I was hoping to look through the library." He said.
"Oh, yeah, go ahead. You don't have to ask me." (Y/N) said, laughing a little.
It suddenly struck her. No wonder why this day was uneventful. It was because she held herself back due to nerves. Nerves of wanting to ask him a specific question. Tonight was supposed to be the night she wanted to lose her virginity to him, but kept her distance with him the whole day. Was she really that nervous and didn't even realize it? (Y/N) stood up from the couch as well as soon as he started to turn around to walk out the room. She needed to do something immediately.
